Paratrooper's Mom Begs Obama: 'End It'

Obviously you do not if you think the American public has only recently been screwed up in their priorities. That is the way its been for most of our county's history.

Ignorance and apathy have gotten increasingly worse since the Post-Vietnam War era. Whereas before times of trouble served to, even if only in the end, bring us together, it seems we're splitting apart more and more and not trying to make any concessions to come back together. The most together I've seen this country in my lifetime was the year following 9-11. And even the togetherness and patriotism resurgence from that didn't even last that long.

And eliminate the conservative party from voting? I don't think they will go for it. LOL!

More like eliminate the ignorant morons who follow either party blindly.

Those minority groups pushed the bounds of what was acceptable and they worked their asses off. They were, for the most part, proud of their country.

LOL! Right, the blacks and women did nothing did they????

You're just trying to find points in my posts to argue. Unless you improperly worded sarcasm.

Driving is not a right.

I didn't say it was, I know it's a privilege. One that if you abuse it, you can hurt someone other than yourself.

Its same ignorance and apathy I have witnessed for the last 4 decades. We learned nothing apparently from Vietnam. The "togetherness" you observed following 9/11 was squandered on our "war on terror." We blew our chance for real change in the world when everyone supported us in response to the terrorist attacks. We could have united the people against this kind of violence. Instead we chose to blindly strike out and killed more innocent people that were killed here. And so the cycle continues...... at least for those of us that have been around to witness it.

This is exactly right. It's like gang wars: retaliate, retaliate, retaliate until you don't know why you're doing it anymore. The Bush's knee jerk reaction to this in terms of Iraq was insane and we should have already been out of Afghanistan. What disgusts me about the whole issue issue is conservatives are willing to pour gobs of money into these wars which do us no good in the long run but fight against things like health care which would help the people of this nation at home. God forbid we take care of our own or bolster our infrastructure, which is falling apart. I went over a large bridge last week driving to New Orleans and the only thing I could think was, "please don't fail."
