Obama Suggests Still Possible Hasan May Have Cracked Under Stress

Is anyone going to follow the actual trial? Here's hoping they don't put a media gag order on all the produced evidence and testimonies...

This is just sickening as well as extremely stupid.

Its one thing for liberal pundits to spout this BS but for the President to say it before the investigation isn't complete and we now know this guy was talking to a Al Queada recruiter it really does make me wonder exactly when will Obama think of the murdered troops and not excusing this Islamic Fundamentalist?

RealClearPolitics - Video - Obama Suggests Still Possible Hasan May Have Cracked Under Stress

It doesn't matter what NOBAMA thinks. At the minimum, the guy is going to be tried for 13 counts of murder in a military court of law, and he will end up in a military prison doing hard labor for the rest of his life.

He will get what any other person who commited that act would get no matter what NOBAMA or anyone else says.

There is nothing wrong with mine. You however need some help.

Hey look, still ignoring the one possibility with factual evidence to back it up. Wow, you are still wrong. :2wave:

Still watiing for you to defend the ignorant assumption that he's just crazy when the guy shut down his apartment and gave away all his belongings.

How does that fit your theory?

None of what you are saying proves or even offers evidence for your argument that Obama has jumped to a conclusion(your words). He offered multiple possibilities and admitted that no one knows for sure all the details yet. That does not sound like some one who has jumped to any conclusions, but like some one taking a reasonable stance on this...wait and find out, then react.

What theory do I have? I don't claim to know all that the causes and I have no real theories. Once again, you are wrong, not that you will admit it.

Sounds like you are making excuses for the guy.
Face facts, the guy is either out of touch with reality, or he has his own reasons for not speaking the truth. It could be this, it could be that. LOL
The people of this country need to hear the truth from the man who is supposedly in charge.

All we get out of him is .......................... nothing but social agenda to put us in further debt.

And please spare me the "he inherited it from Bush" .............

The Dems have had control since 2006, and in 2008 they took the White House and all is out of control.

Romney come 2012 looks better every day.

Are you really trying to compare the Nazi ideology with Christianity? The Nazi ideology is based in racism and advocates it. Christianity doesn't advocate the behavior that was exhibited by people in the past.

I didn't, other posters made that connection.

What...the...****....

Where am I making excuses for any body? I simply don't like people(like you) who try and twist everything into something it's not so they can attack. Obama did nothing wrong here. He said we don't know for sure why this happened, offered some examples of things we do not know, and appropriately said he should not comment on the unknown.

It pisses me off that no matter what happens, people will find some way to spin it into an attack on whatever politician they do not like. You and a couple others come off as "YAY, a bunch more dead we can blame on Obama". It's sad. This should be a nonpartisan thing. We should all agree it's a tragedy that good people died needlessly. We should all agree that Hasan was a vile person, and not enough bad will happen to him in his life. We should all agree that the incident should be thoroughly investigated an anyone else potentially involved should be identified, located, and captured.

You go on a mindless rant against Obama that has nothing to do with this incident and proves that all you care about is your hatred of Obama, and you will use anything to attack him. Seriously, if you want to talk about Obama and economics, there are plenty of threads on the topic...

Let's just be honest. Every problem in this world can be traced back to Nazism. Even predating the founding of such ideals. I mean, we throw the word around these days as if it is the same and as generic as EVIL.

A return to dictionary definitions needs to be in our future.

Officials Begin Putting Shooting Pieces Together : NPR

ZWERDLING: Earlier today, I spoke to a psychiatrist who worked very closely with Hasan and knows him very well. And he said, you know, from the beginning -and Hasan was there for four years - the medical staff was very worried about this guy. He said the first thing is he's cold, unfriendly. At least that's who he came off. He did not do a good job as a psychiatrist in training, was repeatedly warned, you better shape up, or, you know, you're going to be in trouble. Did badly in his classes, seemed disinterested. But second of all - and this is, perhaps, you know, more relevant. The psychiatrist says that he was very proud and upfront about being Muslim. And psychiatrist hastened to say, and nobody minded that. But he seemed almost belligerent about being Muslim, and he gave a lecture one day that really freaked a lot of doctors out.

They have grand rounds, right? They, you know, dozens of medical staff come into an auditorium, and somebody stands at the podium at the front and gives a lecture about some academic issue, you know, what drugs to prescribe for what condition. But instead of that, he - Hasan apparently gave a long lecture on the Koran and talked about how if you don't believe, you are condemned to hell. Your head is cut off. You're set on fire. Burning oil is burned down your throat.

And I said to the psychiatrist, but this cold be a very interesting informational session, right? Where he's educating everybody about the Koran. He said but what disturbed everybody was that Hasan seemed to believe these things. And actually, a Muslim in the audience, a psychiatrist, raised his hand and said, excuse me. But I'm a Muslim and I do not believe these things in the Koran, and then I don't believe what you say the Koran says. And then Hasan didn't say, well, I'm just giving you one point of view. He basically just stared the guy down.

INSKEEP: So we have a picture of a man, then, who, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, was disliked by his colleagues. Or maybe disliked is not the word. Disturbed some of his colleagues is perhaps a better way to put it.

ZWERDLING: No, and disliked is also a relevant word.

...

ZWERDLING: I want to add something else about Hasan at Walter Reed. The psychiatrist I talked to today said that he was the kind of guy who the staff actually stood around in the hallway, saying: Do you think he's a terrorist, or is he just weird? And now, apparently, Walter Reed is in a lockdown mode where they've been instructed - all the staff has been instructed: Do not talk to anybody about this investigation, except military people. Do not talk to the FBI, because they're afraid, potentially, what if people decide investigating this that people missed potential warning signs about the guy? You know, this is speculation still, but

INSKEEP: How can they not talk to the FBI?

ZWERDLING: Well, our colleague Dina Temple-Raston has heard that from the FBI, and this military officer is telling me the same thing from Walter Reed.

Interesting article from NPR.

LOL - it's funny when the shoe is on the other foot - I remember when the liberals were ranting about Bush absorbing the moment when he was informed of 9/11 during a reading to school kids.

Bush didn't want to fly off and scare the kids, and news like that can momentarily stun a good man.

He did what was needed within minutes later.

NOBAMA has dithered since April with Gen. McChrystal's request, and we will never hear the truth told about the Fort Hood matter from him.

Fortunately for us, we have a brain of our own, and we know the truth of matters.

My only sad is the law didn't allow us to vote Bush in for another term.

Romney in 2012 is what this world needs.

Lets get back on topic.

Today Major Hasan officially charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder. So this indicates that prosecuters do not believe he just snaped. He had been planning these attacks for some time.

OK but seriously.

Is the trial going to be televised or just open to the public?? Like, will CourtTV carry it?? I want to see the evidence...

I apologize for any digression. I was reading a thread on an Asian American forum on why Hasan acted. I read the fifth post on the thread. It's by a guy named Andrew Chin. He's a professor of law at the University of North Carolina. He owns that forum. Check out the fifth post on this thread.

The Forum::U.S News::US Army: 12 killed, 31 wounded in shooting rampage on Texas army base

That is nothing more than an attempt at an excuse. "Fighting with the bigots against innocent civilians who had already been brutalized by seven years of American bigotry" Please, get real.

Sarge,

You've misinterpreted my post.

I do not believe it will be on TV. It will be held in a military court of law, afterall he was in the miltary and commited crimes against the miltary.

As far as it being open to the public - I doubt it - and if it is obviously it will have to be limited.

As for the evidence - guilty as charged - they have more than enough to find him guilty, and obviously, that's because he is guilty.

Like they say - if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

That's a good point, since this is technically wartime, can his trial (is it a Court Martial by the way?) be restricted to certain parties or is it still required to be a Public Trial?

Define "public"?

The civil courts are granted broad restrictions on media access.

The military courts are even more secure.

Not that it matters, the evidence makes this a slam dunk for the prosecution.

Then we hang the terrorist.

Question:

Why is it that all those people who bitch and moan about how racist the United States is in their eyes refuse to move to whatever country they feel is better? Lord knows that we racists don't want their useless asses around here, so why don't they go where they'll be more comfortable?
