Sting: Obama best person to handle world's 'mess'

NEW YORK (AP) -- Sting isn't a religious man, but he says President Barack Obama might be a divine answer to the world's problems.

"In many ways, he's sent from God," he joked in an interview, "because the world's a mess."

But Sting is serious in his belief that Obama is the best leader to navigate the world's problems. In an interview on Wednesday, the former Police frontman said that he spent some time with Obama and "found him to be very genuine, very present, clearly super-smart, and exactly what we need in the world."

"I can't think of anyone better qualified because of his background, his education, particularly in regard to Islam," he said.

I believe this illustrates as much or more than anything I have read, heard of seen that there is something fundamentally wrong with the minds of people if after simply seeing hearing and or meeting Obama they symbolically fall to their knees and begin to worship at the feet of a man with no "zero" accomplishments in his entire life. How is it so many people are so weak minded that they set aside the truth and reality day after day lie after lie and not only blindly follow, but vociferously defend the indefensible in the face facts showing his lies and failings repeatedly? This is without a doubt one of the most perplexing situations I have ever seen.
Is there something I have missed or do I have a gene that some how resists mass hysteria or did they put something in the water and I didn't drink any on that day? This is truly frightening because there to be something supernatural at work here or the dumbing down of America has has spread world wide.

They added he joked but it's not funny because he's not the first to say or believe it.

America is dumber then you think. You can experience this by visiting any political rally, Democratic, Republican, or other.

What irritates me with stories like this is that these individuals (singers/actors/celebrities) are held up as having some kind of inside knowledge that makes what they say hold more water then any educated American.

Most Americans are sheep incapable of objective thought. Whatever they hear or read as the truth without question until someone tells them otherwise.

Sting would know a "mess" if he saw one?

Obama couldn't organize your sock drawer, Rock Star, why not clean up your music by reorganizing the Police and do a tour........or something.

All I can say is wow! The last place I would expect to find a divine person of any type is in DC.
edited: he needs to stick to writing songs- that is where his talent lies.

Well God was a frequent visitor and senior advisor to the White House for that past 8 years. :rofl

Yeah, from what I heard and read, Bush did believe that his actions were guided by God, but as far as I know, no person on the face of the earth actually thought Bush was divine.

What's worse? Taking admitted dictation from a non-existent entity or other people believing you are that entity?

I can't begin to tell you how important it is to me that there are some people who get it.
New Gallup Poll Finds 40% of America Conservative– 20% Liberal so how is it we allow these 20%, of whom a majority appear to be radicals that have grown up gone to college and in all their lives they learned nothing about values or the personal freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution that makes it possible for them to speak their Anti-American rhetoric with impunity.
What they don't seem to understand is if they get their way that ends and they will be forced to follow someone else's idea of what is right and what is allowed, because history says that's where Socialism/Communism invariably
leads.

That's a tough one to answer. I would personally prefer that God stay in the hearts and minds of people than take on the physical embodiment of a powerful individual. Iow, God is more of a threat if the concept exists in physical form than if it remains a concept and belief. I'll give the idea some more time for personal digestion though- thanks for the thought food.

There needs to be a balance. No good can come from either side having majority power. We want to stay away from totalitarian state and stay with democracy.

Majority of liberals are not radical the same as majority of conservatives are not radical. The Majority of both parties are just doing what they are told by a select few. The presence of these radicals is in fact a good thing. If everyone was in the middle nothing would get accomplished. You need groups to pull strings on both sides to keep things balanced.

I know both could say: What have you done in your life, Ikari, that compares in any way to the level of philanthropy that I've done? How many individual lives have you directly effected through your efforts? How many 10 of millions of dollars have you raised?

Good Lord you missed the point completely. It's not as much about giving credit to Sting as some sort of infallible soothsayer or divine oracle as it is that another major news organization feels his comments are worthy of print. Not only that but the story shows to me that my suspensions that people have lost all perspective on reality in favor of some false Prophet like individual and the media is behind him all the way and are willing to do what ever they can to promote this nonsense.
Sting is no smarter or important in his views than any other Hollywood radical like Alec Baldwin, Jeneane Garafalo, or any other wacko anti-American. They are all part of a symptom and proof in the danger of allowing their assertions to go unanswered or challenged. It's not that they are any smarter of have better insights. Clearly most show a huge lack of intelligence. It's the power given to them by the media and the effect that has on young ignorant people who believe what they hear from people they think are brilliant because they are on TV or make music or what ever.
