Re: OUTRAGE: Prison Inmates to Get Priority in Swine Flu Vaccine

If you're able to make payments on your house, I doubt you fall into the category of "poor".

You have no idea.

You have no idea.

You're able to make payments on your house, you even have some sort of savings at a bank. You're not poor, you're just exaggerating.

It appears I unwittingly linked to a news FEED off of WOAI.com
So I screwed up on the link.

The title well, that's for another part of the forum to discuss about.

Texas health officials promise inmates won't get Swine Flu vaccines before others

Texas health officials are trying to deflate an exploding controversy, caused by an Austin newspaper article that proclaimed prisoners would be getting the Swine Flu vaccine ahead of law abiding citizens.

The Texas Department of State Health Services issued an advisory this afternoon saying it's not true.
State health officials say the entire Texas allocation of H1N1 vaccine is being devoted first to high-risk groups, and female convicts who are pregnant are the only convicts set to receive doses in the near future.

The article apparently was triggered by a request that was filed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, asking for its entire prison population to receive Swine Flu vaccines.

TDCJ Spokeswoman Michelle Lyons said this afternoon, "This is our wish list." But, she said the prison system has not been told that it will actually receive any doses at all.

Title & link I will change, but it is a non-story. The original link goes to a RSS news feed link farm so it frequently changes.
