And I think embedded military correspondents have changed their nature over time. Gulf I was really the first time since Vietnam that they had a chance to get in the fight. Iraq and AFG have changed the game a bit.
There are many that just report from the Green Zone, which I think is rediculous; but you'd be suprised by how many very prominent and popular journalists have jumped in Humvees on a convoy.
That Richard Engle dude from NBC was in Iraq for five years and has been in AFG for over a year now, imbedded with Infantry companies at the front. He has done some great work and all of his reporting has been very pro-military.
