Sharpton, Jackson Attack Limbaugh's Rams Bid

"Limbaugh graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. His father and mother wanted him to attend college, so he enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University. He dropped out after two semesters and one summer; according to his mother, "he flunked everything", even a modern ballroom dancing class."
Rush Limbaugh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Franken ....attended Harvard College and graduated cum laude in 1973 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science."
Al Franken - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looks like it didn't do much for Franken did it? We have a President who went to Harvard, interesting.

So does a book with such a devisive title and the content of this book, should it prevent Franken from owning a sports team...or running for political office?

Oops.

Is Harvard where he learned how to steal money from Boys and Girls Clubs?? If Rush Limbaugh stole $875,000. from a kids organization, I seriously doubt it would be swept under the rug so that he could run for the Senate.

Do stoke his fire - it will burn out more quickly. Keep other racists out of it, they will just add more fuel.
That conservatives have not STRONGLY denounced Limbaugh places them in the same fireplace as Muslims who have not STRONGLY denounced bin Laden.

Did you just seriously make that comparison? Does the word "stupid" mean anything to you?

A Senatorial seat and the Presidency is not too shabby in my book. But what's that compared to a HS graduate with a radio show right?

If he did that, I would expect there would be charges. Can you provide a link for these criminal accusations you are making?

Given that Franken just won a Senate seat and Rush was not even allowed to buy into a football team, it would appear not!

Apparently people find El Rushbo more offensive.

What private citizen are you talking about, Roger Goodell? King wasn't scolding, he was asking the NFL Commish some questions. If he had questioned Goodell's [personal integrity...like Lee did Limbaugh's, I could see your opinion making sense here. Right now, it doesn't.

He defended Limbaugh. He asked him if he was going to do something about J-Lo and Fergie or apologize to Limbaugh. Maybe you missed his parting shot at the end. I would describe his tone as one of scolding.

Sorry...not a good analogy. Should Lee had attacked right radio...it wouldn't have been right, but it would have fit your analogy. Someone going after "liberal media" is going after the slant the news media put on the news or current events. Wholesale different from isolating a member of the media and calling them out. As well, Lee went after Limbaugh for...not his slant on the news, your liberal media analogy once again misplaced. Lee went after Rush attempt to own a private company citing his integrity because of his political views. You aren't making good analogies here, imo, you're not defending your position either. What are you trying to say?

Did Lee call Limbaugh up to Capitol Hill to question how he conducts business? King says that she didn't even mention his name. Yes, it was obvious who she was talking about and IIRC it was on the House floor where she said it(I'd like to see the roll call on how many people roll their eyes when she is up to speak.). She questioned if he had the right image. She wasn't more specific than that. It's really not much of an attack. It was a waste of time for her to mention her opinion on the matter. And the fact that many people actually believe he said more than just one of nine quotes does indeed prove that he does have image issues, whether they are valid or not, they are there. And for Lee, I would bet that her motive is her opinion of his racial, not political, views.

Asking questions that are false dichotomies is a way to attack. And did he not use Fergie and J Lo to stick up for a political ally? His tone was a bit more than just an inquiring one. Goodell even said that Limbaugh wasn't even up for consideration. He was commenting on the McNabb quote. King didn't back off after an explanation was given. In fact he didn't even offer Goodell a chance to respond to his final comments.

My analogy was poor. But this is how I see things. Your mileage may vary.

I agree it was a scolding tone and attitude.
Not that it matters much, he should have been scolding Checketts investment group they are the ones that made the decision to dump Rush.

It was common knowledge that Franken was up to his ears in the $950,000. loan from the Girls and Boys Club. Franken couldn't be personally touched because he hid behind the corporate wall. He was glad to accept his exorbitant salary out of the money though.

By the way, the college dropout Limbaugh makes 10 times more than Obama and Franked combined each year, so I guess he's not too dumb.

Like who, the people of Minnesota?

In so late...

My view on this - I think that everyone should stop trying to cross over to other arenas of interest. Rush has been a pure tv or radio entity and suddenly wants to get involved in sports-related this and that.

In the same way I fail to respect celebrities and entertainers who're trying to cross into politics.

Never heard of it. An urban myth I suspect.

So your philosophy is the money makes the man huh? Well, I guess that is one way to go. I value education and ethics more myself. But that's just me.

If Obama went back to being a lawyer (which he could easily do) he wouldn't be making 10 times less than Limbaugh and since when was how much money you make a marker for your success? Limbaugh is rich because he is controversial not because he is a genious. Being a radio host doesn't take much intelligence, being a lawyer does.

Limbaugh makes tens of millions per year. And if Obama was such a great lawyer, he would have practices as one. Tell me where he really practiced. He was a law professor and community organizer.

:rofl

Powerball winners are greater than President!

Is that really what you think? You think Obama couldn't have a practice as a lawyer? Why would he choose being a lawyer over President?

And by the way, he practiced for Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland.

Do Powerball winners work for their paycheck, produce income for their companies, and pay salaries to their employees??

Pitiful analogy.

The whole idea of who makes more money having anything to do with being dumb or not is completely absurd.

Britney Spears has a lot of money. So does Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Jessica Simpson, and George Foreman, Sr.

Pitiful premise.

Yes, that is who elects Senators in Minnesota.

Just making sure your comments were limited to the State of Minnesota where they're known for world wide wrestling federation governors and complete jokes like the late Paul Wellstone, thanks.

Yes it is....Then there is this:

In a 1995 case known as Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank, Obama and his fellow attorneys charged that Citibank was making too few loans to black applicants and won the case. As one commentator noted in May 2008, legal “successes” such as this were probably responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis of 2007. That is, banks were not loaning to blacks whose credit was poor. When the law forced them to lend money anyway, the inevitable collapse occurred.
