Sharpton, Jackson Attack Limbaugh's Rams Bid

Everyone knows Soros is behind Moveon.org

Really? I had to look up who he is, and I am more politically aware than most people. I doubt very much most people have any idea who he is.

If you listened to Rush or watched Fox News, you would know exactly who he is.

Once Rush's name came out, it was inevitable that this would happen. Rush has made a career out of pissing people off and saying outrageous things, and Rush has been incredibly successful doing so, so he is a household name with every one having an opinion on him, and as such is pretty divisive. All the other stuff was just fuel to the fire that was already there, and already made the result inevitable.

Which doesn't change the questions you skirted.

Do you think Limbaugh would've been kicked from the ownership group or denied by the NFL if his name didn't get leaked?

Oh, sorry. No, if no one had known he was a part of the group, there would be no controversy. I was not clear enough on that, sorry.

I think you might be right there. If people did not know that a known racist and hatemonger were to be bidding, there would have been no uproar.

The uproar would have happened later when it was announced that a known racist and hatemonger was an owner.

I'm thinking that either you're not being entirely honest, or you're not as politically aware as you think.

Yeah I'm sure he wishes he'd stayed with the Royals.

You think he would be making $50 million a year and have 15 million people listening to him every week if he was still in KC??

If he could win 20 games a year with an ERA under 2.00.

He makes $50 million a year?

It would be tough for a promotions director to win 20 games.

He signed an contract extension in 2008 through 2016 for $400 million dollars and I'm sure he makes appearance money on the side.

It would be tough for a pitcher to do it too.

Wow. That's amazing.

I'll respond to YOU, since YOU'RE actually having a conversation ;)

In this case can you honestly say its "No one but Limbuagh's" fault that he isn't part of the group trying to own the team now?

In today's environment, I see the information coming out as inevitable. Further, the information could have come out about almost any one else and it would not have mattered. So yeah, the reason Limbaugh was a problem was because of the things Limbaugh says, which he is entirely responsible for.

To put it another way, if it was me as a part of the bid instead of Rush, there would be no controversy, simply because I have not made a career being controversial. The difference between us is why he is being dropped from the group, and that difference is his choice.

I read Limbaugh's account of it, and I'm still mystified. They thought it would create a PR nightmare, but wanted to go along with it anyway. Limbaugh claims he continued to ask about their support, and they were fine with it still. Then finally, they want him to pull himself out (Limbaugh says no, you have to remove me yourself), due to the controversy.

How could they not see this coming? Furthermore, Limbaugh is still trying to garner sympathy about it, which is what a good political radio host would do, but honestly, if you are a controversial person in politics (or in any other field), a lot of your new ventures in arenas not entirely political (or in whatever field it is you are involved) will make you take a lot of heat-so I do not have sympathy for him.

But he's not in a new venture he has been involved with the Pro Sport stuff since his early days in Radio.

Beside the NFL really doesn't have any grounds to stand on here when they start throwing around the so-called image problem.

Just go and read this website,

NFL Crimes NewsBlog

Its not his venture in to sports that is new. It is this new venture into sports after firmly establishing himself as a hate monger where the problems came into play.

I find it very inspiring to know that even today that money doesn't always win out over ethics.

What would you say if George Soros was a partner and it happened to him?

What Hate Monger huh oh and news flash folks he has been involved in Pro Sports allot longer then he has been a Talk Radio Show Host, some of you need to do some research.

What's most amusing at this point is Limbaugh's over the top self-pity. It would be nice to see Limbaugh be a man for once in his pathetic life and actually take responsibility for the things he's said, but I won't count on that happening.

What things would those be? So far, no one has been able to prove any of these accusations to be true. What about th responsibility of those persons to back up their public statements?

This view is perhaps the most succint I have seen from the non-dittohead perspective ~

"to non-dittoheads Rush trying to go "mainstream" is like a hardcore porn actress trying to be in the next High School Musical movie." - Ken371

But, would you deny her of her right to attempt to be in the next high school musical movie?

Maybe not a H.S. musical since presumably a hardcore actress would be over 18, but an adult musical probably so. But than I am much more sympathetic to hardcore actresses than I am to El Rushbo.

I'm sympathetic to anyone's right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. If this were Keith Ubermann, I would be critical and I would most certainly make fun of him, along with anyone that would enter into a business deal with him, but I would be embarressed as hell if my fellow Conservatives witch hunted him in the same manner that Rush has been. It's stuff like this that will be the much awaited demise of the Liberal/Progressive movement in this country. I don't think anyone is going to shed a tear when the Libbos finally remand themselves to historical irrelevance. Liberalism will be put up on a shelf right beside the Nazis and the Communists. 20 years from now, we'll see a small group of decrepid Libbos with hate Bush signs, still talking abou how Obama was the best thing since sliced bread--much the same way that Skinheads revere Hitler--protesting in Washington, while onlookers point and laugh.

Me too, however I believe people are responsible for what they say. If they say things that offend the majority of the public then they can't expect the majority to like them. There is nothing in the Constitution about talking trash to people and they must like you anyway.

As much as I cannot stand Rush Limbaugh....he would be no worse an owner than Georgia Frontiere was....not to mention Al Davis.

In Al Davis' defense, age has just washed away the great decision making part of his mind. I mean come on the Giants vs Raiders game on Sunday was pathetic!

I don't. Divisive politics have no place in the NFL.

Politics + Football = Lame

Agreed, I hate the fact that NBC lets Olberman do commentary for their games and that Dan Patrick has him as a guest on his show. I want to watch the Jets without knowing Mark Sanchez's views on immigration, the Giants without knowing Chris Tucks view on Affirmative Action and the Mets without knowing Johan Santana's view on foreign policy. Sports is one of the few havens from politics.
