Ammunition Bill Signed into Law

398 chicago school kids have been shot in the last 12 months

47 dead since jan 20, inauguration day

24, 23 and 34 the last 3 school years

all of which makes oddly more inexplicable obama's promotion of former pro basketball player arne duncan to cabinet status, secty of ed, after the ex hoopster calls himself a "total failure" when it comes to addressing school safety as ceo of chicago's public schools from 01 to 08

Chicago Violence Haunts Obama as Gun-Control Backers Left Cold - Bloomberg.com

Videotaped Death the Latest in Long History of Chicago Youth Violence

chicago's gun ban obviously isn't working

cnn reported last week that 18% of windy city's schoolers are armed

Appeals court supports local gun bans - Chicago Breaking News

of course, the young honor student whose murder last month was recorded on a cell phone and put on blast for all the world to see was done in not by firearm but via railroad tie

maybe tie-control is in order

but the gun ban seems to have done nothing to stem the "wave of violence" inundating the ed secty's home district

maybe, like obama per the economy, duncan can argue things could be and would be worse without the actions he's taken

except he repeatedly confesses to his "total failure" status

so's the gun ban

sad

VERY INTERESTING ! But what does any of what you posted have to do with the California ammunition restriction bill ?

does this kind of bill make you think about Gene Hackman in the first Superman, or maybe 10.5?

Are you going to back that position up with anything?

Unless you are licensed by the state and fed to sell ammo, it's illegal.

The gun grabbers? Yeah, because an AMMUNITION BILL has a lot to do with 'grabbing' guns...:roll:

First of all, do you even live in California? If not, mind your own frickin' business. If you do live in California, do you live in a city or a town?

What is your problem with this bill? Honestly, from you little angry rant, I can't tell what your issue with the bill is...

I did not put up an angry rant as some have but I am at a loss as to what the usefull purpose of this bill would be. We already restrict and or license the sale and the possession of many guns. Why do we need to restrict the sale of ammunition on top of that plus as noted in another post a lot of ammunition is for guns that are not restricted ?

This bill makes me think of a theorectical bill that would license, register, and or record the sale of gasoline even though we already register cars and require a license to drive legally.

As Goobieman pointed out fingerprints on a shell or box of ammo does not prove you were the one who shot someone. This is even assuming a criminal is stupid enough to not wipe fingerprints off the shell or does not police his brass).

I could be wrong but that only applies to dealers and last I checked a out of state dealer is not subject to Commiefornia's laws.

Ammunition is a part of arms.

The US constitution applies to all 50 states.

So if they wanted a finger print of everyone who buys a computer, pencil paper, bibles or anything else to exercise first amendment rights you would be cool?

You must register to vote to exercise your right to vote, so registration is not an infringement.

well most liberals whine about people having to produce an ID to vote

The only purpose of gun control laws is to hassle honest gun owners. Everything evil someone can do with a gun is ALREADY illegal. IT IS ALREADY ILLEGAL For

1) a felon or DV miscreant
2) a drunk
3) someone adjudicated mentally incompetent
4) a drug addict
5) an illegal alien or a fugitive
6) someone under an indictment
7) a dishonorably discharged individual

to own, possess or use any firearm or ammunition

I don't have to produce an ID to vote ... but then my state wasn't taken over by conspiracy theorists either

People should show an ID to vote. It might cut down on some of the fraud.

If I have to show an ID and undergo a background check to buy a gun then what is the problem?

No problem ... I'll register to vote, and you register to buy a gun. We're all set.

Oh, wait, did you want me to sign on to Republican skeer tactics about showing IDs too? I already told you, my state isn't taken over by conspiracy theorists

do you support the california law?

So how does hampering law abiding people buying ammunition to defend themselves deter crime? I dont see the logic here

you assume that the reasons behind this law are to hamper criminals. The real reasons are to hassle honest people.

Okay, now I read it. Sure, absolutely. The cold medicine statement was weak, but othewise, thumbsup.

Local LEOs said it helps in crime solving, according to linked article.

local law enforcement -doing the bidding of their masters-made that claim about the DC gun ban as well. They were lying.

Its fun seeing a liberal blindly following whatever cops say when it is to hassle what you see as conservatives. If cops say miranda and free lawyers hampers the prosecution of criminals I suspect you'd be less likely to parrot their claims.

freedom sometimes means the cops don't get everything they want-and those who speak for the police tend to have their lips firmly planted on the butts of the politicians rather than actually speaking for the line officers.

It's fun seeing a conservative from Ohio get all worked up about an ammunition law in California. I thought conservatives were all for states' rights? Oh wait ...

Wow, it must hurt to have his head so far up his ass... This will do nothing for violent crime in California.. I guess I should stock up on ammo and open a stand on the border of California and Az and sell ammo to them.

How do they plan on stopping people from going out of state to purchase? Further, how do they plan on stopping those same people from selling it to their friends?

Stupid ****ing legislation, the gun grabbers just don't have any common ****ing sense.
The governor is COMPROMISING, it's insane. There is no compromise in the word "infringe".

stupidity is bad no matter where it happens in this country. Libs in Ohio constantly try to impose gerbil-land laws in my state. I also support the fourteenth amendment and it is clear to me that the second was incorporated by that amendment.

why do so many libs support gun laws-is it because you think they hassle mostly conservative voters?

Unlike fickle states' righters .... I don't care what laws California makes for themselves. I don't live in California.

And the question answer is: no. But, try to convince the victim-mentality-right otherwise, and you hit a brick wall. So many victims on the right. *sigh*

Ah the evasions-so typical

It not illegal to buy ammunition from one state and take it to another, and you do not need a license to re-sell ammunition you bought from somewhere else.

See my first post...

I believe I explained to you why/how there is a difference here.
Did you not understand?
