Support Grows to End 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Your argument will be reduced to arguing tactics and if the mission should have continued with even more dead US soldiers.

Clinton left forces in Somalia and committed additional forces WITHOUT sufficient armaments/armor, and WITHOUT direction as to the goals of their mission.

If we had the appropriate CAS as requested by those on the ground, there would be less dead US soldiers, not more in Somalia.

I will agree that hindsight will show that better tactical decisions could have been made.

But I think most people would agree that sending troops into Somolia was a bad decision and getting them out before more died was the right choice.

At this point, Obama has shown less decisiveness than Clinton did.

hindsight? It was known the minute he crap hit the fan. He refused the request for air support. Americans were killed.

Hindsight has nothing to do with this atrocity by a sitting president.

... maybe we should just get rid of the republic and have a military dictatorship. That's pretty much the only way for things to work according to your specifications.

I don't know what the answer is, but then, it's not my job to know. It IS Obama's job.

Its not his job to know the answer. But to make the best attempt at one. A feat that cant be done without careful assessment, otherwise you get war on the cuff ala Iraq 2.

Catz, Rev and Dr P, you've done such a great job that all that's left is to smoke. :smoking:

He's had 9 f'ing months and as much briefing from the DOD as he wants/needs.

WTF?

You are seriously defending this inaction???? Seriously?

Now you people are pissing me off.

Retreat is never the right choice. It might seem prudent at the time, but you end of paying for it later.

Self ownage is the best ownage. Get back to us when you start using that erm "logic" :ssst:

"shrug" No one on this thread has used an ounce of logic as enumerated by every logician in the history of humankind. As someone who has actually studied the works of Aristotle and Ludwig Wittgenstein, you can take that to the bank.

Well, duh. I have to compensate for your deficits.

Letting your emotions take the wheel and not arguing the point instead of the person is hardly compensating for my deficits.

Well, if you want to go down that road, we can start listing "atrocities" by every President and the results. Would you call Reagan's sending troops to Lebanon and getting 300 killed before pulling out an atrocity?

No I call that a bad decision. He didn't continue, he didn't say "no" to air support in the middle of a fight.

Awesome, so when will you be gracing us with some of that "logic" :2razz:
