Obama going to Denmark to pitch Chicago Olympics

If Chicago gets the Olympics, how many foreigners are going to get mugged/killed? Hope none of them travel down to the south side.

My point was that this is a high risk move. If he is successful he will look like a hero. If he fails he will loolk like a bufoon. I did state in subsequent posts that the British PM did that so there is precident. Yet it is risky.

I don't think Obama will suffer any loss of face or prestige if Chicago doesn't win.

I think thast you sre doing enough parsing, twisting, weighing, anayzing, and opinionyzing her words. I am sure that if you try hard enough you can come up more of her words that you can twist out of context of crap on. Keep working at it and give us your best effort because a half baked screw job is not what you should offer us.

Until I heard that there were other heads of state who are going to pitch their countries I was pretty much against his trip. I know that I did state that I thought that it was undognified for a head of state to do this but now that I know oher heads of state are going and that Tony Blair did the same I am finding it harder to complain about the undignification of this.


If we could guarantee that nothing stupid would fly out of the mouth of the Biden we could send Joe. Well no we can't !!!

I still think that this a risky endeavor.
 
For that matter, Vladimir Putin did this when he was president.

I agree and if they show up they will want health care, government health care. Keep the foreigners outofhere !! You know there are enough ethnic groups in Chicago that they can hold their own internation Olympics. Plus Canada is not that far away if they need more foreigners.

In politics as in business, if you don't want to get elbowed out, you do what the other guy does if it is working better than past practice. Whether or not it was appropriate for international governmental authorities to make the case for their nation for the Olympics, it will be after this succession. I don't think the Olympics review board is going to complain: it just highlights how prestigious their institution is.

Putin is a freak, hitching the one's aura to that, just made me chuckle..... what next naked horse back pics and judo?

How does Communism relate to wanting to get your country prestige and money by doing what is working for other nations? Didn't realize Communism has a monopoly on diplomatic efficiency and practicality.

But hey, I'm just glad we could find a way to turn matters of common sense into hyper-partisan issues.
