Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama

YouTube - Parents Approved Of Obama Song Lyrics: Courier Post Editor

Here’s a Fox News video.

It was February, a month after the first African American in this countries history was elected President much to the chagrin of many.

Not only was this a celebration of Obama being the first African American President, it was one video, of an eight video skit taken in February, which also celebrated Abraham Lincolns birthday, as well as Valentines Day, Groundhog Day, ect, ect.

According to this “Fox News video” the lyrics were sent home prior to the assembly, no parents objected to them.

No parents have come forth objecting, even after the “Fox News” induced ****storm, So how were the lyrics forced on the children?

While your looking at the Fox video notice they have the words the children are singing crawling across the screen.

I would be interested which ones seem to be objectionable to anyone here.

Would you object this part“ make this country strong’ again”?

Perhaps this is the one you find objectionable. “equal work for equal pay”.

If not those two, maybe it was this one that struck a nerve.
“to make sure everyone gets a chance be they red, white ,or black”.

First thanks for posting this info. I make my remarks based upon the assumption that this video is legitimate since we know that the source is from a biased "news" source.

I am not a wild partisan so I will not condemn President Obama since there is absolutely NO indication that he fostered this video. Still this is highly inappropriate because the statements are value statements hense that make them political.

To have children sing "]“ make this country strong’ again” says that the prior president made us weak. Even though that is a true statement is is a value statement hense political.

]“equal work for equal pay” even though that is a good thing to strive for it does not belong in a sond that children sing.

I don't know what to make of the "red, white ,or black”. ditty. Yes it is about equality then if that is what is to be tought why not have the children be tought to treat everyone equal, white, red, black, stoopped, srtriped, or purple.

Even if this was done with he "best" of intentions I just do not like it having children singing things that can be construed as political.

Yet let's be honet here people there is no indication the President Obama had anything to do with these songs of Chairman Mao.

They are all objectionable because they imply that the president will "make this country strong again", forces kids to say such, and thus pushes a political opinion.

The whole thing reads like a campaign ad. Not the kind of thing I'd want in a public school.

Read through the thread and I think you'll find you're one of the very few who don't find this objectionable.

That's pretyy much what I think about this and I do not come to that conclusion on a partisan basis. I am sure that here those who would not object if stuff like this happened during the Bush administration just as there are those who are not objectly soley becasue Obama is in office.

I find it objectionable no matter which political party is in offce.

Did it praise Brownie for doing and "heck of a job"?

The "heck of a job" Brownie was basically a Bushnyk stupidtism. If some partisan Republican bufoon made school childen sing that I would really be pissed instead of just laughing at a Shrub behaving like a Shrub.

Meh. Another page taken from mein kampf.

One of the first thing he took over was the hospitals as well.

Its interesting how health care is so big right now.

I dont care what the song says. Why arent they busy studying math or science?

Start-Up Teaches Math to Americans, Indian-Style

“If you don’t get mathematics to the highest level you possibly can in high school, your career options shrink dramatically in the 21st century,” Mr. Compton said. “Our society basically tells girls they’re not good at math. I was determined that was not going to happen to my daughters.”

You should be able to worship your messiah freely in your own home. They have MUCH more important things to focus on in school.

Interesting that you would note that. Biden said nearly the exact same thing standing in the flood waters of georgia this past week. Nice media blackout on this. The Katrina comparisons are inevitable.. You can stand outside and see the hypocrisy all the way from Georgia.

... we don't actually have a legal process to punish anybody for this. The parents can petition to cancel (or at least withdraw their child from) any school event they find morally questionable, but we don't have any specific laws addressing mention of public figures in school songs, whether they are being praised or blamed.

These comparison to Hitler, Stalin, or even to Sata Claus are nothing more than hyper active partisan horse droppings! No one who can actually think for himself belives that garbage anyway!!

Did he actually say "you're doinn aheck a a job you Obama appointed FEMAMIESTER" ?

Now imagine the children singing Bush praises...

...and watch the Left go catatonic, comparisons to Hitler and Stalin would be child's play.

Remember "el-Diablo" comparisons and the calls of "liar" from Democrats throughout the Bush years, they pretend Stalin and Hitler analogies upset them now...

Please.

Bottom line, this is one of my children.....they get a new teacher. I either withdraw them or watch some resignations take place.

It goes without saying that the weak resort to Hitler or Satan comparisons, and that members of the left will do it much the same as those on the right, with partisans perhaps not supporting the rhetoric exactly, but will defend the negative sentiment.

I understand sir you believe political indoctrination and the hero worship of a sitting president is acceptable practice at the elementary school level. To me that's just the sickest thing I could possibly imagine. This teacher is trying to raise Obama youth. Seig Heil sir.

Look, nobody seemed to mind very much when this same thing was done for other former presidents. I find it very hypercritical that people are so up in arms about this now!

Now, I agree somewhat w/F107HyperSabr's take that the lyrics do impart "value statements", and as such they do have somewhat of a political slant, but I find nothing "indoctrinary" about it. I do, however, think that anyone who does is espousing to nothing more than "fearmongering". Why invoke Hitler/Stalin-like undertones otherwise? It was just a song performed by children during Black History month for goodness sakes. I seriously doubt the kids remember it now some seven months later.

you know why even do this kind of stupid thing you know that you are going to get heat from the parents and fox news this is just a desprate cry for attention nothing more than stupid junk you know that they are not trying to warp the minds of children just trying to get on the news

lol it's a cult of personality anyway you slice it, we're not saying that it's Obama's fault, however, how can anyone actually deny that this teacher is a cultist and was trying to indoctrinate kindergardeners into her cult?

Look, nobody seemed to mind very much when this same thing was done for other former presidents.

When? Where? Who? Talking about long dead Presidents like Washington or Lincoln is not the same thing as hailing and deifying a sitting POTUS. Not even remotely the same. The former is celebrating the history of this country, the former is being in a cult of personality. Sorry but Obama is not my fuhror and I will not hail him and anyone who indoctrinates little children to hail him should be driven out of the public school system on a rail.

I find it very hypercritical that people are so up in arms about this now!

What do you mean by now? Do you have another example of elementary school kids being indoctrinated into a cult of personality by their teacher? I don't freaking think so. Proof or it didn't happen.

Now, I agree somewhat w/F107HyperSabr's take that the lyrics do impart "value statements",

Ya if your values are the deification of dear leader and the indoctrination of children into a cult of personality. Those aren't my values.

I want a bush song or an amti oboma one

I don't think Obama is responsible but this teacher is a cultist trying to indoctrinate children into her cult of personality. She has clearly deified a sitting POTUS and has no place in the public education system. I won't tolerate teachers in the public school system indoctrinating children into the cult of christianity and I sure as hell am not going to tolerate them indoctrinating children into the cult of personality of a sitting POTUS.

We don't need laws. She should be fired. The superintendent who is defending it should, also, be fired. The school board needs to convene on this matter immediately. These radical cultists have no business teaching children. If they want to indoctrinate people I suggest they move on upto the university level, but then again I presuppose that they don't have education level to be a professor.

Yes i have a serious problem with indoctrinating elementary school kids to deify a sitting POTUS to the hymn of Jesus Loves the Little Children and the Battle Hymn of the Republic and replacing Jesus with Obama in the verse: ""He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama," but then again you might support a cult of personality on U.S. soil, however, I do not. I'll say to you what I say to theorists. **** your god.

Indoctrinating? How can you call it indoctrinating when it was a part of a Black History month skit last February a month after the first Black Presidents inaugural in our counties history?…Oh by the way, here is the original video, notice that there is no music?Kinda make you go Hhmm…wondering where Fox got theirs doesn’t it?

How do the words "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight” equate to supporting a cult of personality?bizarre.
I'll say to you what I say to theorists. **** your god.

You might want to rework this part of your post. I consider myself a part of the United States that is in the majority as for as religious beliefs are concerned, Christianity. ((78.4%) other wise you saying “**** your god” to the god of a majority of Americans. :2wave:

Can some one please explain to me why this is a big deal please. At worst, best I can figure is a couple teachers in one school district exercised poor judgment. Isn't there much more important things going on to spend energy worrying about?

The child who doesn't imbibe kool-aid has no parents.

It's a big deal to some because no matter what happens, some people just will be hard pressed to find anything redeeming about this President. No matter what he does or what other's do on his behalf, some people will find something about him to complain about.

Again, the song was done during Black History Month in honor of this country's first Black President. Move on, folks. There are far more important things to discuss than some song performed by a multi-racial group of kids at an elementary school in honor of the nation's 44th President.

Funny how the right were not up in arms over when children were forced to do the same for Bush.....

Link? or sink.

Link? or sink.

You don't think some teacher somewhere told their students about the greatness of Bush? I suspect it is highly likely.
