Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama

If this is true then this needs to stop RIGHT NOW. The teacher(s) and any administartors involved in this must face severe disiplanary action.

One caveat , "]If [/COLOR]this is true .. Let us not that this came from FOX the home of Glenn Wreck and Saun Vannity need I say more ?

Sorry that the rest of the 4th estate is the confirmed propaganda wing of the current administration but I provided the GD youtube video sport.

In the Russian dominated Soviet Union this type of stuff was ranmpant especially during the Stalin years. The Chi Coms sang the "praises" of Chaiman Mao and I believe that in Cuba they sang about another muderer Castro. There is no excuse for political indocrination.

As I noted in another post I would like to see an fair and balanced source for this story since all that we have thus far is Faux Newzs.

Um no we have the actual video recording of the song being sung. And FYI Fox is the only network which has not become a part of the propaganda wing for the Obama administration.

Well if not altered or faked then a video can "speak for itself". Still when the source is from a network where one of the taking heads once accused President Obama of not liking White people you will have to understand why I am skeptical.

Lol deny deny deny. Sorry sport the only network that will be critical of ein Fuhror is Fox news as nearly the entirety of the rest of the 4th estate is nothing more than a ministry propaganda for the current administration.

Ferris, do you hold Obama accountable for what the TEACHERS (and not Obama) did?

"Equal work means equal pay"

Sure, but who defines what equal work is?

When Obama said that, he was talking about equal pay along sex-based lines. Currently, women make on average less then men doing the same jobs.

I think it's weird and cheesy but not in any Hail Hitler type of way. It's more like there is finally a hero of sorts for blacks to look up to and there hasn't been such a famous successful black leader in quite some time. He is the first black president and so it's likely they'll be all kinds of tributes to him wanted or not, appropriate or not.

Similar to the crappy songs kids sing about Martin Luther King during black history month

Preschool Martin Luther King Songs and Music

I was reading a thing on Media Matters today about this vid, it was originally posted back in June, and it was from Black History month last February, according to the posting.

Here's some irony - follow my logic:

1. Would most of you agree that only someone with moderate to liberal views would be passionate enough to praise Obama by pushing such lyrics on these children?
2. Those who are most likely to oppose the expression of religious views in public schools usually tend to exhibit moderate to very liberal political views. Right?
3. Some of the lyrics in the song in question are taken from a hymn about Jesus and are used to praise Obama in place of Jesus.
4. Last time I checked, Jesus had something to do with religion.
5. Therefore, it is highly probable that teachers and/or administrators with moderate to very liberal political views taught the religion of Obama to a bunch of unsuspecting kids.
6. I guess that one's view of the validity of teaching religion in public schools can be modified by which god one prays to!

Never claimed that he was responsible. However, I do see that the left in general is completely responsible for this cult of personality.

Why is the left in general responsible for the actions of a minority of nutcases? It's not as if the left in general advocates this nonsense.

I personally could care less what their motivation was for making these kids sing this crap. They deserve to lose their jobs.

Its the circle of political stupidity. Find the worst case scenario from the opposing side from your views, paint them as the "norm" and let those crazy peoples shouting, and disruptive behavior take care of the rest.
I mean, its not as if people aren't trying to infer relationships between Glen Beck and a census workers murder lately either. That is why it is a circle.

So I guess that makes it allright then huh? But if what Media Matters is saying is true then why is the superintendent for the school district making claims about singing praises to Washington as well?

I hate that these little kids are in the center of a blog crusade. Who started this? I don't understand why whatever concerns someone had about this song didn't stay at the local school level. These are little kids.

I don't know. What is the superintendent saying?

1. Would most of you agree that only someone with moderate to liberal views would be passionate enough to praise Obama by pushing such lyrics on these children?

No, because I reject the theft of the term 'liberal' by the modern statists. A liberal is a person who values liberty above all else. One cannot logically (or at least rationally) value freedom and support this administration. The encroachment of government on the lives of the individual is as much a detriment to individual freedom now as it was in 1775.

But yes, I agree that it is downright silly that people who go crazy at the thought that a child might hear about God in school also support the idolization of Obama.

Except in those two cases of NK and Nazi Germany, the leaders of those countries forced people to praise them.

This was the work of teachers, not Obama.

And yes, I think this deserves an investigation and I don't think it would be going too far to suspend or even possibly terminate the jobs of the administrators involved.

They tried to excuse it by saying they sang songs with Lincoln's and George Washington's name, but they had to have known it would have caused problems to use Obama's name and accomplishments in this fashion.

You can celebrate black history month without having the children singing praises about Obama.
Interesting take. I disagree with it, but interesting nonetheless.

Look, love him or hate him but the man is this nation's first black president. I don't think anyone should be fired over celebrating that accomplishment. This only looks bad because the songs were discovered in the wake of the President's openning day speech to school children. There's nothing sinister about this song. The lyrics are cheesy, but I find nothing harmful or "indoctrinatory" about it. I mean, the words don't proclaim him to be master of the universe or make such statements as ushering in a new world order. It simply speaks of being proud of this nation and of its president. Nothing more, nothing less.

(Sidenote: I can't view the video from work. So, I don't know if it came out during Black History Month or not. If it did, I'd say the timing of it was appropriate. If not, I'd say the teacher had way too much time on her hands and needs to re-do her lesson plan.)

These are the times we live in. Anything you do in public is now fair game for commentary by the masses. The technology of the internet has allowed the common person the ability to play "journalist".

Celebrating long dead Presidents is a bit different than singing an indoctrination song about a living President don't you think?

Yes, I do think it is different, hence my comments. Please read all of them, I think I explained myself quite well and didn't excuse any of it.

Given that Obama's term is not even up and he can run for re-election, I do not think our schools need to be turned into a campaign headquarters singing about accomplishments that are not universally accepted as accomplishments.

God bless bloggers in finding a way to beat television news coverage at incoherence and stupidity.

On your points though I would not say that this is "ok" if it's not a school. Reason is that I disagree very strongly with using children for political messages and protests. I do not like it when the anti-war freaks use childeren and I hate it as well when some Tea Bagging Bufoons used children to project their oppinions. I also very much hate it when the anti-abortionists use children to project an anti-abortion message.

Using childeren to political mssaging is just plain wrong. I called that Igloo Girl girl and her disreptable supporters out when she and they used her children for political messsaging. If this case is true then the people who had those children sinking the praises of OBAMA as if he was a dictator need to be persuaded that they did wrong with some permanent punishment.

Let me clarify.

The only reason that I think it can be okay is if it was some sort of youth club for children, where parents voluntarily allow their children to be exposed to topics relevant to that club. If there was such a club as a "support Obama club" or "young democrats club" or something along those lines, and (here's the qualifier) that the parents have given consent to allow their children to be exposed to the favored political messages.

This isn't using children to further specific political message. This is a different style of parenting, which as far as I know the parent has every right to teach whatever policy to their children. Is it good policy, bad policy? That doesn't even matter. If the parents have given consent, then I don't give a rats ass what the political message is.

This event, of course, is not the case. It seems the parents did not know anything about the song, and therefore did not give any consent. Which is a violation of the parents trust.

Let's get this straight. This was one teacher who's class learned this song.
Just one. In the entire country.

What is the big deal? Why is this important?

They do have their work cut out for them. It is no easy task, and they are not disappointing.

Hey those lyrics are catchy! :bravo:

Well the person who illegally vidoe the children started along with the Teacher and the Princaple of the School who allowed this crap to go on. Oh and she said today she would do it again.

If one of these kid was mine they would need the 1st Marine Amph Division to hold me back from destroying this Teacher and Princaple. I hope that some of the parnet come forarwd and demand that they all be fired and all Mr. Obama crap be removed from allof th school except the Official Picture of the Prrsident which is required by US Codes to hang in all Puplic School's.
