G-20 opponents, police clash on Pittsburgh streets

How many protests and riots have you been to? I have been in or around more than a few, and I have never once seen anybody that I would consider an undercover cop starting or doing anything. It has always been clearly a kid or punk or protestor. Clearly.

I've been to a small handful of different protests... and ya, sometimes it's punk kids doing stupid things. However, the cops have been caught so many times sending people to incite crowds, it's seriously like the standard routine when violence breaks out...

Undercover cops never incited violence: SQ
The incident occurred as protesters voiced opposition to a meeting of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, United States President George Bush and Mexican President Felipe Calderon Aug. 20 and 21.

At no time did the officer threaten anyone with the rock or use it to incite actual protesters to violence, Savard said during a news conference at SQ headquarters.

Infiltrating protest groups with undercover officers is standard police procedure worldwide, he said.

I'll repeat it, because it's important : STANDARD POLICE PRACTISE!

Here was the video of that event... you tell me how the cop holding the rock was 'blending in' with the crowd??

Still waiting for the Proof that Pitts Police started throwing Rocks and Trash Cans, oh the funny thing about you little link is it from the Guardain a real great English Newspaper, I suggest you might want to go and read the final report that the Metro Police of London and Scotland Yard put out. It tells of a very different story on what happen in London.

Also still waiting for the Proof that it was the Cops in Seattle who started all the Fires and Destruction

As soon as I saw this thread I thought, wow left wing lunatic violence. I wonder if the same folks who want to tar and feather the ring wing for the actions of a few nutjobs will come here and do the same to the left. Somehow I doubt it.

I eagerly await the hypocritical displays of blind partisan hackery that are destined to come to this thread.

There is no reason to wait for the future to satisfy your fetish since the OP has already gone wild eye rank partisanship !! LOL !! [QUOTE "Also why is it when a bunch of so-called Extreme Right Wing Folks have a March in Washington DC not a single act of violance or any arrest happens but when the idiots on the Left be it these morons or the Anti-Bush Crowd hold a March there is always Arrest and Violance. So who is the side that should be watched allot closer???? .[/QUOTE]

...Are not the same thing. Cops infiltrating groups does not mean that they incite riots. Unless you can show a statistic regarding how often violence breaks out and that police started said violence you really don't have anything. *shrugs*

Oh come on 107 I attack both side so how can you sat I was being a Hack beside there is truth in my words.

So do you have actual proof that it was Pitts. Police that were the ones throwing the rocks, and Rolling the Trash Cans, if so then let see the proof or better yet send it to one of the Drive by Media I'm sure they would love such a story. Also let see the proof from Seattle show all of us who the Cops were who started the Fire's and Destruction. You open this can of worms Sir now it's time for you to answer the call if you can.

No, I carefully stated that I had no proof of this yet.

Consider that there is also a 'mob mentality' going on at a protest, so maybe a singular cop threw the first rock and the kids followed suit... maybe the kids were paid off beforehand...

It's far from unprecedented, as I stated, 'standard police practise'. So, while there are times where people get over-excited and get violent, but more often then not it's cops or other 'agents-provocateurs'... any legitimate protest group makes announcements to have a strict non-violence policy.

Also I suggest you might want to go and read the Us Constitution as I suggest about how and when the Guard/Militia Units can be used. Also I suggest you go and read up on the fact it was the Visiting World Leaders who requested tighter Security do to what happne in Seattle,Brussel,London to just name a few Cities that have hosted the G-20 Summit.

We will all be waiting for you proof and links :2wave::shock:

In America there is... or at least WAS the 'posse comatatis act'... that heavily restricted the use of the army, national guard, etc, except for in emergencies.

Also, since it's always been police at those events... HOW MANY TIMES did any of those protests breach the barricades?? Yes, there was violence at those events... but hey, since it's admitted worldwide policy to infiltrate protest groups... how much more REALLY needs to be said on the subject??

It puts into question how much of the violence was from protestors caught in a mob mentality, and how often was the instigation from police? It can no longer be proven one way or the other...

As for the constitution... how about you remind me the specific section that allows the army to be used as police in non-emergency situations?

Anarchists (And other crazy left-wing parties) =/= Democrats. Same can be said for the far far far right and Republicans.

I thought I would get that out of the way early in this thread.

I actually listened to it while it was happening here.

That just about right and the OP has made the point for you before you had to make it in that a right wing partisan has already painted everyone left of center as some sort of left wing viloent whack jobs.

Since you asked Article I Section 8 go read it :doh

Oh no no I didn't 107 I ask the question why is it when the So-Called Right Wing Extremist have a march that there is no violance or arrest and when the Left Wing Folks be it this group of morons or the Anti-Bush crowd there is always violance and arrest.

Evan though I do not believe that there are hardily any undercover cops causing riots since there isn't any such thing as the statistics burreau of undercover cop causing riots any more than there is a stat for how mnay undrcover marcs we have.

I do not believe that there is ALWAYS violence when "Left Wing Folks " protest. Now there are groups that are viewed as left but they are actually way out whacks, anarachists, and other assorted perverts who are percieved as "left" who are indeed violent. You are partially correct in that the type of groups and individuals who protest the g8, g12, g20' and other G 's tend to be violent. What I saw in your post was the inplication that all "left" group are always viiolent and that is just not true.

Once again you don't know what your talking about Posse Comitatus act on;ly applies to the Guard when they are put under the controlof the Federal Govn., in this case the Govn. of Penns. who controls the Guard Units order the Guard to back up the Pitts Police because they need not only to serve and protect the G-20 but they also must actually do there real job protecting the Citz. of Pitts. hence the reason why the Guard Units were call up. This part of there Duty. I suggest you do some more reading on the subject. Start with US Code 18 section 831.

The guy is a random investigator. He probably said that to get some attention.

Also, might I suggest Firefox for your internet browsing needs? It has a built in Spellchecker, perfect for your, well, spell-checking needs.

In both cases, it's really legitimized by color of law...

Seriously, you're saying that Obama's security is not acting under 'federal' control??

Of course, it was the police trained to ask for national guard for anything... jaws of life at car wrecks and other 'reasonable' uses of the guard.

If you don't see a problem in this situation... wow.

It was one thing having national guard out in the open in armoured vehicles and all... but now we add unmarked cars as well...Given the atmosphere... I won't be surprised that those people being arrested in such a way will be charged under 'patriot act' somehow, and never be heard from again.

After all, since you're so fond of the legalities... are you fond of the idea that it's been determined that protest is 'low-level' terrorism.

Like I said earlier... this is the official demise of the first amendment in america.

I seriously had no idea anarchists were considered to be left-wing. I though they were their own little universe of crazy.

From the videos I've seen the mood of the millitary is that as though they were under attack...?

The groups involved clearly expressed their desire to attack and/or shut down the meetings. There's a reason that the military feels they are under attack.

There is a huge difference between infiltrating to collect intelligence on groups that have a history of engaging in criminal acts, and being "agent provocateurs," which is what you're alleging.

Nope. These are your wacko animal rights and environmental activists. They're the lefties.

That wasn't the military. They haven't worn those uniforms in years.

It was confirmed that this was police in military gear, and they were getting the kid for vandalism.

Police in military gear = military grade police?

These G-# summits should be held in a country with a real dictator in power.

Then lets see if the anarcho-communists have any balls.
