Obama to Appear on 5 Sunday Talk Shows This Weekend

By Anne E. Kornblut

President Obama will appear on five Sunday talk shows this weekend, a senior administration official said Monday, becoming the first president to do so as he attempts to maintain momentum for his health care overhaul.

In making the rounds -- appearing on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and Univision back-to-back -- Obama will do a modified version of "the Full Ginsburg," as such a sweep was dubbed after Monica Lewinsky's lawyer, William H. Ginsburg, became the first person to do five broadcast shows it in 1998.

I predict Pres Obama will boost support for health care reform ... and I also predict righties will be pissed that Fox is left out of the loop ;)

They shouldn't even let FOX in the White House briefing room.

All they are doing is lending credibility to a biased, right wing drama show posing as a News organization. FOX is openly advocating for the Republican Party. FoxPAC: Network Again Engaging in Political Advocacy with "9-12 Project" | Media Matters for America

In a just World they would be kicked to the curb, but with spineless Dems in charge they'll just take the abuse and hope if they are nice, FOX will stop talking bad about them...LOL

Well first let me explain to you this thing called the 1st adm you might have heard of it. Second you really want to start throwing around bias claims hmm ABC and there little Health Care stunt.

This has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment.

FOX news is free to say whatever they please.

And the Obama Adminstration is free to ban right wing hacks posing as reporters from the White House briefing room.

Just because you call yourself "fair and balanced" doesn't mean you are.

No there not I suggest you try to understand the 1st Adm and the Freedom of the Press or shall we start using some other names on what your suggesting.

Certainly glad he doesn't have anything better to do.

I cried foul when the Bush admin did that, and I'd do the same with Obama. I don't think he's free to ban the press and only allow in that which is friendly to him. The press' job is to aggressively question the government on what it's doing so that the People can better understand what it is that the government is up to. Now, in this day and age of horribly partisan "news" networks (FOX is not alone on this one), I admit that's not really done as well as it should be. But that is there job and the President shouldn't be able to only allow networks which will pitch him softballs. In fact, if we're banning press agencies; those are the ones I think you could best argue to ban.

Frankly, I think he should do Fox. Not that it would matter, though. But he should do an interview with them anyway. What better way to gain support for your policies than to go on a talkshow of the opposition and state his case. Sure, they'll try to do everything they can to paint him in a negative light and I suppose that's why he won't go on Fox, but if he has his duck in a row, what's the harm?

State your case, make it a good argument, be factual, bring the opposition on your side. That's what I would do. Consider this: If the President is able to debunk alot of the mis-information out there and make it clear why health care reform is so important economically and medically, why not do it on air with the one network station that's outright against you?

I predict that he will make people even sicker of seeing his silly ass shooting his mouth off, saying the same ole damn thing...again.

Personally, I won't be at all pissed if he keeps FNC out of the loop. Actually, I would be amazed that he wouldn't want to show up at the highest rated news channel in the country.

This will make propaganda tour #5, or is it #6?

Never in the history of this country have we ever witnessed this kind of media placated propaganda come from the oval office.

Perhaps he thinks speaking to Univision's audience rather than Fox's audience will be more productive? Fox's Sunday show is the lowest rated of the four, and Univision has quite a large audience that may not be reached with any of the the other four outlets?

The Sunday show (FNS) is the lowest rated of the four Sunday shows.

He wouldn't say any such thing. He would ask, "is the half colored guy here, yet?"

Why is it that people ignore the fact that PBO is only half black?

He's not even the first black president. He's the first mixed race president.

That is becasue most of the FAUX NEWS viewers are in church praying for Obama's teeth to fall out and that all the other Democrats get brain cancer.

All except for Robert Byrd they like Robert Byrd becasue he was was KKK once during the Ice Age and they like to bring that up.

So you have proof that all of the Fox's viewers are in Church praying that Mr. Obama's Teeth are going to fallout.

Show me the links to this bold statement

If PBO wasn't half black, what ever would you use in his defense?

The trully sad part about all this, is that folks like yourself of dicking things up for the next black candidate. A black man, or woman, will show up on the scene one day that would make a trully remarkable leader and because of this kind of crap, they won't have a chance. Electing PBO and the Libbos throwing the race card out there at every oppurtunity is probably the worst thing to happen to black American in a long time.

But you were the first to bring up race in this thread.

Until you brought up the fact that he's only half-black, the focus was squarely where it needed to be...what network will he/should he go on.

No, I wasn't. You may want to scroll back and see where you're mistaken.

At once? Confirming my suspicion that there is more than one Obama! Ha!

He's not going on Fox? Big surprise. After Chris Wallace suckled Cheney's schrodum a few weeks back, I can't believe he tries to claim objectivity. What would Mike say?
