Tens of thousands attend broad protest of government in nation's capital

LOL I aint excusing anyone, just pointing out your sides hypocrisy on the issue. What is intellectually weak and pathetic is your sides sudden "outrage" over massive debt and other issues...

Again, where were they when Bush took the debt from 5.6 trillion to almost 9 trillion in 2007 and almost 10 trillion before he left office... where were the 10s of thousands protesting this in Washington?...

Mr. Bush didn't take the debt to 9 Trillion it was the Democrat Controlled Congress so once again you lack of US come shinning thru run along Mr. EU Poland is calling you.

Actually they did the Park Service said today that they Estimated the crowed to be between 1.2 to 1.7 Million People making it one of the largest March's in Washington DC History.

I'll trust the Park Service number over anything else posted.

Link please?

Link please?

Go to the National Park Service and do a friggin search but hey I just work in DC and had to walk thru some of the cleanup that's all.

The Park Service issues no official numbers, so whoever told you that was spreading some lies.

Was the clean up as bad as after the inauguration? Just curious, and I thought that if you had a link to the figure you quoted you would post it so the Libs wouldn't call you a liar... Oh well.

Did not find it. Care to provide a link?

Sorry Jack but they always put up numbers for the Mr. Obama's swearing in it was around 1.2 Million for the last real big Anti-war/Mr. Bush protest it was around 500,000-750,000 they are required by US Codes to report said numbers for over time pay.

Yes and No in some areas near the Mall it was just as bad but in other areas like going towards the backside of the Captial and in fron tof the White House it was better. I would say over all it was about the same for any large protest/march that happens in DC.

Actually the worst I have ever seen it is after the Big Jazz Festival that is held on the Green.

I was told to do a friggin' search.

I did, several in fact. The numbers are contradictory, though almost no one says over 1 million. The most reliable was the 50 - 70 k from the DC Fire Department, but that seems low.

Yes, can't remember exactly who tho. Maybe Collins and Brennan?

Yes it was Joe Brennan and Susan Collins in 1994 after that Susan defeated Joe in 96 for Bill Cohen seat.

seems like just another right wing circle jerk to me. that is why the reporting is sparse.

I was looking for the numbers from the NPS.... that would be the official number.... the rest are all guesses.

Seems like another left wing jerk with nothing to add.

They don't, Scorp. I don't like contradicting you, cuz I likes you

But, the National Park Service stopped issuing official crowd estimates in 1994. They reversed their decision to offer an estimate for the Obama inauguration (1.8 milliion, the 1.2 million was the Johnson administration).
Park service changes course, plans to offer crowd estimate - USATODAY.com
National Park Service issues official crowd estimate - Inauguration Blog - Washington Times

The number you cited is from Michelle Malkin's blog, she got it from a rw twitterer who had bad information (including the ABC number of 2 million, which was also false):

"Update: Tabitha Hale says Parks & Rec estimated 1.2 million. An ABC News correspondent says it wasn’t national ABC News network that reported 2 million figure. I take them at their word — and am checking to find out more info."

Michelle Malkin Celebrating the 9/12 rallies; Turnout estimated at 2 million; Update: How many?; FreedomWorks in error

Neither one of these numbers are accurate. Malkin notes the ABC News story (a FreedomWorks guy lied), and doesn't go back to the NPS numbers, but the NPS does not issue crowd estimates, and didn't for Saturday's march.

You want us to take your concerns seriously, yet you blow off and demean ours.

Make no mistake, this weekend's turnout turned Obama's insides cold. He's lost the public debate badly.

Good luck finding the numbers. Despite Scorp's claim, I could only find crowd estimates from NPS for Obama's inauguration. He is welcome to document the claim, but until then, his claim is no better than any of the other guesses, and the Fire Department is the most likely reliable.

I doubt that seriously. Poll numbers would mean alot more than any crowd of protesters, especially when so many of the protesters carried over the top signs that make them easy to dismiss.

60,000 people isn't that many people. That's a large town or a very small city. There are hundreds in the smallest states.

Jumping on the bandwagon I see. I would bring you up to speed on why I chose that back in 2006 but haven't changed it since my recent return, but something tells me you are more interested in making off-topic comments about me personally than offering any form of debate about the rally everyone else seems to be posting about.

I'm really not interested in your off-topic opinion of my POV.

You consider lame insults directed at thousands of protestors to be a form of debate? Please, sir, you do the term an injustice.

Anyway, Mr. "Moderate", perhaps you can explain your reflexive disgust of these protestors, since it apparently has nothing to do with your unremitting love of all things Obama...

Their very existence is an affront to honesty and is built on a mountain of ignorance and hypocrisy. What's not to be disgusted about?

So, Obama isn't trying to push through a (near) trillion-dollar bill at a time when deficits are already off the scale?
