Rep. Wilson Outburst Leads Senate Dems to Close Loophole in Health Reform Bill

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

Joe Wilson is going to go down the same historical road as Joe McCarthy: A great American that got a bum rep for doing what he had to do to protect his country.

We can't allow the same injustice happen this time.

The diference between the two is that Joe McCARTHY STARTED OUT GOOD and turned into a moron. Joe Wilson started out with assholian charteristics and has become a bigger asshole as he farts out more crap from his mouth.

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

So you're saying the constitution is unconstitutional. That makes no sense. The first amendment magically trumps the constitution?

Haven't you figured it out yet! That ilk just calls anything that they disagree with or do not understand "unconstitutional. It's a scam.

Scorpion89, How does one part of the constitution "trump" another? What makes the first amendment more meaningful than the body of the constitution?

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

So you're saying the amendments trump the body of the constitution. You're being ridiculous. Having rules for decorum is not a violation of the 1st amendment. Do you know when the 1st amendment does not apply?

Yes it when that rule states you can't express your right to Speech and what you might call decorum is totally different then what I would call it.

the constitution is unconstitutional! Is there any part of the constitution you actually understand? Tell me again how the house confirms president appointed officials?

But that si a directed violation of the 1st adm and needs to be sent to the US Supreme Court to be decide. Freedom of Speech trumps any rules that Article 1 Section 5 puts in place they must comply with the Bill of Rights.

Uhh...no. Things in the Constitution cannot be ruled unconstitutional.

Wow you have to ask that question my fgod what the hell do they teach you folks in Govn. Class now adays.

Simple it GRANTS FREEDOM plain and simple there is a reason why it's the 1st Adm. it lays the foundation of this Country if you don't understand that then I'm sorry but your a lost cause.

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

You don't believe that exposing the president's closest advisor as a Soviet spy is important? I do, call me crazy.

Everybody already knew you were wildly partisan, long before cranky Joe Wilson infamously introduced himself to America. Despite your best efforts, I'm pretty sure Joe Wilson will always be associated with disrespect, incivility and a circus-like engagement with issues of critical importance. Of course, some will chose to see these characteristics as heroic.

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

Joe McCrthy ACCUSED President Eisenhauer and his entire cabinet of being Communists or Commie Symps.

Really?? I never knew that Joe McCarthy accused Ike of being a commie. First I ever heard about that. Gotta link? I would love to see it.

He will be by the Libbos, anyway. How many times did Liberal Congress critters call Bush a liar in public? Don't be a hypocrite, please.

I'm a lost cause? Your saying something in the constitution is unconstitutional! And if it were so important don't you think they would have put the first amendment in the body of the constitution instead of adding later? Just answer this one question: How is something in the constitution unconstitutional?

Hmm have you been following the thread ????? What I'm saying is while the House can set up it's own rules Article 1 Section 5 it can't stop Free Speech Mr. Wilson lastnight the Democrates on Feb. 2 2005 during Mr. W Bush State of the Union. The Right to Free Speech is protected by the 1st Adm. Article 2 Section 3 doesn't say that the President can't be heckled while making a speech to Congress.

Yeah what the hell do they teach you in government class scorpion

Lets see so how many were confirmed by the Sen. and the House oh that's right noneof them were confirmed by the House were they so no the correct answer is that none of them were confirmed by this Congress. It takes both the House and Sen. to confirm a Cabinet Position.

"In public" being the key point, not while making a speech in Congress.

The 1st amendment does not grant the right to slander and libel.

The consitution says the House can makes its own rules, they made a rule, so now you have to follow it, it's quite simple.

Um the 21st amendment repealed another amendment. Amendments aren't apart of the body of the constitution

Actually it can make the rules whatever it damn well pleases. It's right there in the Constitution.

I'm curious...if you think THIS violates the First Amendment, what kind of rules could the House possibly establish that would NOT violate the First Amendment? Last I checked, there wasn't a governing body anywhere in the world that didn't have some kind of basic decorum rules. How else would you ever get anything done?

Just offering my analysis not judgment. Liberal congress never crossed the lines that were crossed last night. However, I do appreciate that you are painting Joe Wilson's story as a sob story. Poor ol' hoot'n an a holler'n Joe Wilson. Just couldn't contain that all of that incivility.

Um the 21st amendment appealed another amendment. Amendments aren't apart of the body of the constitution

So, the 1st Amendment can be ruled un-constitutional?

Man, I'm learnin' some stuff in this thread!

Oh good lord. You really have absolutely no idea how our government operates. Prohibition wasn't ruled unconstitutional, that's why Congress had to PASS AN AMENDMENT repealing it. I hope you are not considering a career in law. :doh

Um Rep Wilson has every right to be a dick during a speech while the house has every right to censure him for being a dick. I didn't seeing booing listed as a do not do in the house decorum rules

You're greatly mistaken, sir.

Again, how many times have Democrat Congress members called GWB a liar in public? How many times were false accusations of crimes made by Democrat Congress members against GWB? How many Congess members falsely accused GWB of orchestrating 9/11?
