ACORN Officials Videotaped Telling 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' How to Lie to IRS - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents

When are we going to do away with this organization?

This is pretty crazy:

On the videotape, "Kenya" can be seen telling an ACORN staffer that she earns roughly $8,000 a month. The ACORN employee then suggests to "Kenya" that ACORN could submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year — instead of $96,000 — and that ACORN would charge "Kenya" $50 instead of the usual $150 fee for preparing her taxes

...

The "pimp" later says that he and "Kenya" plan to bring up to 13 "very young" girls from El Salvador to work as prostitutes. Although an ACORN staffer points out their plans are illegal, she also suggests that the girls can be claimed as dependents.

"What if they are going to be making money because they are performing tricks too?" the pimp says.

"If they making money and they are underage, then you shouldn't be letting anybody know anyway," the ACORN staffer says, and laughs. "It's illegal. So I am not hearing this, I am not hearing this. You talk too much. Don't give up no information you're not asked."

The "pimp" then asks ACORN staffers to "promise" not to discriminate against his sex worker because of "who she is and what she does," according to the audiotape.

"If we don't have the information, then how are we going to discriminate?" the ACORN staffer replies. "You see what I am saying?"

...

The staffer goes on to suggest that as many as three of the underage girls can be listed as dependents at the home, but a "flag" will be raised if as many as 13 are listed.

"You are gonna use three of them," the staffer says. "They are gonna be under 16, so you is eligible to get child tax credit and additional child tax credit."

The ACORN workers also appear to be promoting the group's services to the "pimp" and "Kenya."

A second ACORN employee can be heard on the audiotape suggesting that the couple join the organization for an annual cost of $120 prior to attending one of its first-time homebuyer seminars, which are underwritten with taxpayer funds.

Later, when the "pimp" asks what would happen if the organization is somehow connected to the scheme, the ACORN staffer replies, "First of all, it's not gonna damage us because we not gonna know. And with your girls, you tell them, 'Be careful.' Train them to keep their mouth shut."

"These girls are like 14, how can we trust them?" the pimp asks.

"Just be very, very careful," the ACORN staffer says. "Whatever you do, always keep your eyes in the back of your head."

I don't know that this really reflects too much on the organization as a whole, but whatever staffer was saying this **** should be fired and get his ass kicked for good measure.

Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart have just blown the cover off the corruption of ACORN. This is an organization that Obama used to work as a lawyer for, and handed billions of dollars to in his stimulus package.

What the headline doesn't tell you, is how they tried to help them with the taxes, on children they were bringing into the US to train as child prostitutes.

ACORN Officials Videotaped Telling 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' How to Lie to IRS

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

The videotape was made public Thursday on BigGovernment.com, a political blog launched by Andrew Breitbart as a companion site to his BigHollywood.breitbart.com blog.

In the videotape, made on July 24, James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as a pimp with a 20-year-old woman named "Kenya" who posed as a prostitute while visiting ACORN's office in Baltimore. The couple told ACORN staffers they wanted to secure housing where the woman could continue to maintain a prostitution business.

ACORN — the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now — bills itself as the nation's largest community of low- and moderate-income families "working together for social justice and stronger communities," according to its Web site. The organization has been accused by Republicans and conservative activists with fraud in voter registration drives around the country and has been under fire since last year for its support of President Obama and for its planned participation in next year's census.

A spokesman for ACORN, Scott Levenson, when asked to comment on the videotape, said: "The portrayal is false and defamatory and an attempt at gotcha journalism. This film crew tried to pull this sham at other offices and failed. ACORN wants to see the full video before commenting further."

The video is "false and defamatory", and "an attempt at gotcha journalism" huh. Well lets take a look:

Why is this getting ignored, this is pretty serious. The Dems just send a whole lot of tax dollars to acorn via the "stimulus" and they get busted for trying to help others cheat on their taxes...must be where the Dem congress learned how to do it.

I think there needs to be much more investigation as to whether or not this is a more individualized case or recurring behavior, but it is certainly despicable in any case.

I'm glad ACORN is getting tax dollars. Federal funding is best used by shadowy and shifty partisan political organizations, I always say.

They cant be much use at their trade if they cant afford a good accountant

Or just do it the easy way and legalize and regulate prostitution?? (not of 16 year olds mind you)

The 2 staffers responsible have since been fired.

Their supervisors should be sacked too

I'm surprised that no news organization has played up the child sex slavery angle yet. You'd think that would be the type of thing that would get headlines for days, and it's one of the rare occasions where the actions are actually so ****ed up that it would deserve it.

I fear that this incident goes beyond partisan, right past criminal into conspiratorial.

We don't have to do away with them. We should just immediately cut all funding.
I would have agreed in the past, but I'm afraid that the law must now demand long prison sentences be handed out.

If the FBI isn't all over this organization, then the leadership of that entity needs to be arrested.

The fictional girls that the investigative reporters (yes, they deserve the title,) were asking about were I believe, said to be 14.

I knew when I saw this story, that I'd see some Liberal retort that it shows the need to legalize prostitution.

Thank you.

But why stop? Does this not also show the need for legal child prostitution, and the abolition of our borders? Come! Follow the logical trail you've opened. Be careful if you do though, it seems to descend rather quickly into a Hell In Earth.

The news blackout on other than Fox, and similar outlets is 100% predictable.

Had it been libertarian though it would have been acceptable? In all reality, i hold those views in many ways when it comes to many vices including drugs, gambling and prostitution. But I do hold true to the moral belief that it should be for adults to decide, and I am very against the exploitation of minors. If a legal adult wants to engage in these activities it should be their right to do so, and it should be the governments responsibility to make sure that these things are as safe as possible. Prohibition in ANYTHING has been proven time and time again not to work. I love that you try to play the partisan card when in reality this is not a republican or democratic point of view, when in fact more libertarian in opinion, which is shared by both of the two main parties. I know many people on the right on this forum who would agree with me about prohibition, but you for some reason need to make it partisan because I lean left.

I agree that these actions are despicable, as I previously stated, but as ratings have shown (fox being the most viewed), something being shown only on Fox News is ANYTHING but a news blockout

Of course, silly me, it's the government's responsibility, I forgot. They are to take care of us in all ways, at all times, in all manners, lest we have to set moral boundaries of any kind.

You misunderstand my bent, it is not in this case partisan, but philosophic that is to say, Modern Conservatism (order,) as opposed to Modern Liberalism (chaos,) or even Libertarianism (have my cake and eat it too.)

I disagree...I think in the case of vices, it is only the governments responsibility to make sure that the vices are regulated in a way to cause the least damage possible. An open legal market for drugs is safer than a black market run by cartels. A legal gaming casino is safer than underground gambling institutions with no regulation (indian casino's are a decent middle ground, though by no means the only solution). Legal brothels with std testing and proper protection are safer than whore houses run by pimps or madame's with no standards for testing. This has nothing to do with partisanship but with the basic truth that these things will happen regardless, and as such should be regulated, though not RUN by the federal government. To legalize such things is a far cry from saying the government will run them. Please, do tell me a time when prohibition has worked. Again, I only support these actions for legal adults. I believe that any corruption against minors is despicable and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
