‘Lord of the Flies’ at U.S. embassy in Kabul?

Lurid conditions described in e-mail
One e-mail from a guard describes lurid conditions at Camp Sullivan, the guards' quarters a few miles from the embassy. The message described scenes of abuse including guards and supervisors urinating on people and "threats and intimidation from those leaders participating in this activity."

is this some sort of mob mentality? what drives people to do these kinds of things?

I think it is just some guys blowing-off steam. They weren't U.S. soldiers, and I have not seen all of the pictures, but from what appeared in the video it seemed rather uneventful. Of course no one wants these types of extremes to be occuring in a country we are attempting to aid, but it is nothing more than guys being jackasses and partying to pass sometime. Not too serious, just overabundance of testosterone. This is commom behavior in FRAT houses.

i think they tried that.....seems those who resigned are still somehow working U.S. contracts.

This reminds me that I'm really kind of glad that no one ever got video footage of the stupid **** we used to do when I worked at a police agency. God...it totally would have looked like Lord of the Flies.
 
i do......and a husband. my brother was career navy, and he told some stories as well. but i don't think i ever heard him talk about pissing ON someone......(maybe he was sparing me).

Today I had pregnancy issues*, homework, and a small but paying graphic design job. And so as I look over at the half written post I have in the corner, as it cries and wastes away due to neglect, I am find myself forced to go "Movie night."

*Specifically my wife, had pregnancy issues. I tried to convince her that those issues did not necessarily need to concern me. That went about as well as you might expect.**
