Sick, absolutely sick. I hope these people rot in prison for the rest of their lives and in hell for all eternity.

An 11-year-old California girl kidnapped in 1991 while waiting for a school bus has been found alive, and a convicted sex offender is accused of raping and fathering two children with her while he and his wife held her captive in their backyard.

Despite the shocking revelations, the discovery of Jaycee Lee Dugard brought sudden relief to her family 18 years after their young girl disappeared.

Dugard had been kept with the two girls, ages 11 and 15, in a series of tents and sheds hidden behind the Antioch, Calif., home of Phillip and Nancy Garrido, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday at a news conference. The couple has been arrested on several charges stemming from the discovery.

I saw this headline as I was getting ready for bed and was incredulous. How does this happen for so long? I understand that there are crazy fk's, but how you find 2 ones that are willing to behave in this manner for this many years....it's unfathomable to me. I hope while they are rotting in prison that their fellow prisonmates give them a taste of their own medicine. It's absolutely disgusting.

Mr Garrido had a reputation as a highly eccentric religious man, who held revival meetings in the tents, to quote a report.
Maybe with his "belief" rotting in hell holds no fears, I am happy with a life behind bars for them.

So he kidnapped the girl at 11 in 1991 and fathered two girls by her in 1994 and 1998? She gave birth to the kids in the backyard?

He must have had some sort of power in order to get away with something like this for so long, right under the noses of his congregation. It is easy to understand that his wife might tolerate such a thing, but an entire-- if small-- religious community? Not to mention, that tent revivals are exactly the kind of religious activity that attracts strangers. That's what they are for.

There's nothing to do in a case like this but to put these two down quickly and without ceremony, and to provide every possible courtesy and comfort to that poor woman and her daughters.

It may instead have been a small group of people over whom this man held sway with charisma and claims of spiritual authority. Remember Jim Jones.

Jim Jones group wasn't small. The number of people who killed others and themselves might have been 'small'(900+) but the church's size was in the thousands. There are hundreds of little **** kicker towns all over America with less people then the People's temple. This seems more like a fringe group if anything.

You think that's not power? It would be easier to talk people into suicide than into accepting kidnapping and sexual slavery, at least in this day and age. And the more people you keep under control-- without a single detractor-- the more power you must be wielding.

I've heard of several such cases. This is just the only one I've heard of where the slaver has regularly held tent revivals in the same place he kept his slaves.

I agree with your sentiment. They'll need every blessing they can get in the years to come.

What are the chances that he raped those two girls? I do find comfort that male inmates tend to hate child molestors.

No argument. I was astonished that Jim Jones could cause hundreds of people to commit suicide, and force their children to do the same. Ever since then I've been leery of "ministers" who have too much charisma and seem to be worshipped by their congregations.

A true Christian minister draws attention to God, not to himself.

do you think that those people who signed a doc to affirm that he could control sound with his mind, should have their backyards visited by the police, also if they have kids I think they should be checked out.

Me too, Goshin! How is someone so weak that they allow someone else to tell them to commit suicide. It is just plain nuts to me--something I cannot fathom. NO ONE has the capability to make me injure or kill myself. I understand that others allow someone else to control them....but to that extent? :shock:

On another note, this is an extremely tragic story. GOD she must have gave birth to TWO kids who knows at what age.. jesus man. I don't get it.. how could no one hear them? Like.. yell for help? Maybe they were tied up and I dunno. Messed up dude. I'm glad people aren't jumping on the parole officer.. God knows what type of manipulators these people were...

I am just vengeful enough to hope that this man and his wife are anally raped--DAILY--for the rest of their pathetic miserable lives. Really, though, vegeance is so underrated. At least prison inmates grasp the concept, though, and we can trust them to follow through with appropriate consequences.

Wanting vengeance is a very human trait, but ultimately it isn't going to do anything useful. Chuck them in prison for the rest of their life. I don't honestly care if they die, but it isn't worth wasting taxpayer money to do it.

Well, I'm not against the death penalty per se, but in this case I think a few decades of being anally raped is far better.
