Difference between being an asshole and telling the truth. I was commenting to the truthfulness of Jerry's post. You put yourself into it.

You see I never saw him as a hero. I saw him as a coward and cheap shot political hack who helped bring this country to it's knees.

He is gone and I am very glad.

Hmmmmm if this was a thread about Rush or Newt and they were dead, I would comment on it. Hence no hypocrisy on my part. They aren't dead and this isn't a RIP thread for them.

Please, Kennedy was an overblown rabid liberal senator, that while I never wished the man ill, our country is served much better with his passing.

It is rather disconcerting that people use political opinion of position to spew hatred. Since you did bring up the Chappaquiddick cases I believe that most reasonable people well say that yes Ted Kennedy was guilty of involuntary manslaughter. There is evidence that yes a young lady did die and that Kennedy was driving, and most likely alcohol was involved. What we donot have is any evidence that it was murder. Did Kennedy behave badly? Yes he did! Should he have been charged with involuntary manslaughter? Yes he should have! Did he get away with involuntary manslaughter because of family influences? Yes, most likely. Is he the first politician to have done so? No! IS THE LAST ONE, no!! If you want to get political well ok and we can consider the young GW Bush and his cocaine snorting. Did he get away with that because of his family ties? Yes, most likely! Was either case a justification for the other? No!! The last I will say about the cocaine snorter at least no one died!!
