Okay, just a few things here::
First off, I am a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for a state funded Rehab/Detox Facility in Rural Missouri. Meth is a huge problem here in our state, as well as Heroin. I know the effects of Meth addiction and it isn't pretty. It takes emotional, financial, physical and spiritual tolls on users lives. It brings total devistation to users. THERE WILL NEVER BE A SAFE WAY TO MAKE THIS DRUG LEGAL!! There will never be an alternative to the local labs that we find in garages, RV's and sheds. There will always be a cheaper, more effecient, quicker way to get the drug if ever regulated.
Also, for all of you that made comments about the "scumbags" that use the drug- I am a recovering Meth addict myself. I have 10 years off the drug and when I began using, I was not a Scumbag. I had a great paying job, a nice apartment, a brand new car and was working on my degree. I came from a great and well-rounded family that had no history of drug or alcohol abuse, no violence and no mental history. My parents were still together and were happy. I came from an upper-middle-class family and I had a happy childhood. I tried Meth for the first time to help combat fatigue from working 40 hours per week on top of school, 40 hours a week. I didn't use it for very long and I seeked treatment to stop my problem. You must understand that: DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE!!!
About your marijuana addiction: I have seen many people that have smoked Pot their entire lives that have no health problems, no problems getting or keeping jobs or no problems living their lives just the same way a non user does. And I have also seen the devistating effects of marijuana addiction. I, myself, feel that alcohol is a much more dangerous drug than Pot.
