Huckabee Says 2 States in Holy Land "unrealistic."

Although we preferred hanging our witches, the point is valid. He also said when science contradicts the Bible, he chooses the Bible. No thanks.
I wouldn't be so hasty, since the application of "science" has allowed for genocide in modern times, but the Bible has not.

Besides, one is a moral guide, the other an approach to understanding nature, that cannot in truth offer any moral guidance.

You are right. No one has ever died in the name of Jesus. My bad.

I figure the good done via science far outweighs the bad, so I'm good with it.

Not sure how this matters in relation to the thread.

1) You mean misapplication of science? Science doesn't call for genocide because genocide is evolutionarily flawed. If genocide were to take place, we would be less fit as a species.

2) Isn't there genocide within the Old Testament?

"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations…then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy.” ~Deuteronomy 7:1-2
"…do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them…as the Lord your God has commanded you…” ~Deuteronomy 20:16

Well, considering the prevalence of Christian charities and social initiatives though the years, a lot more people have lived because of or for Jesus. I suspect that you'll not wish to consider this in a favorable light.

Science by the way can do no good. It is a method for gaining knowledge, no more no less. I suspect that you are thinking of technology, and some modern philosophies.

As for your lack of certainty, you will have to seek relief for that as seems best to you.

Cite for me please, one single, solitary example of anyone ever burnt for witchcraft in the American Colonies.

Oh, this should be fun!

Actually, witch burning is a figure of speech. Most were hanged some were drowned, and a couple were crushed to death between large rocks. Only one was ever actually burned at the stake. My point is, all this was done under the same kind of theocratic government that Huckabee advocates.

Why?

That is totally non-sensical!

The history of theocratic governments from the beginning of time right to 2009 is as bad as it gets.

It was done under an hysterical perversion of a religious system, such as might happen under any system of government and often has in history. Think of the French Revolution and the Terror that followed for example, or the Nazi persecution of the Gypsies. The fact the the government in question was religious is irrelevant.
