The democrats did the same thing under Bush. And that wasn't ok either. I dont support Repulicans holding signs like that or Democrats. But this is not an example of the average Republican...there are crazies on both sides.

What irks me about posts like this is the fact that they try to stereotype an entire group of people based on the action of one. People are individuals. We all think in different ways. To assume that all individuals in a group (aka Republicans/Democrats) all agree on everything that other members do it illogical.

And yet Reagan increased the size of the government and pushed massive deficits.

Reagan spent more money on the military. He did this because we were in the middle of the Cold War. I think that is completely justifiable. Had Reagan spent so much on the military during a time of peace I would be against that, but under the given circumstances he did what was necessary.

Yes on both. Reagan also passed the socialist "earned income tax credit" which redistributed wealth and gave amnesty to illegals. Increased the size of the military to which his successor started making cuts. Outspending the russians accomplished what exactly? We knew as far back as the Ford administration that the soviets were collapsing under their own weight.

The cold war ended with the fall of the russians in 1991. Reagan wasn't president then. I guess we should thank Bush Sr. ;)

Once again we knew back as far as the Ford Administration that Russia was falling apart under their own weight. It was Rummy and Cheney's fearmongering and their marginalizing of the Ford Admnistration that kept things going. They convinced Ford's people the russians had secret weapons through their counter-intelligence group Team B which ran counter-intelligence against the CIA

I've noticed that usually when republicans are on the losing side they often drop the republican label and claim they're libertarians. Again study up on your history a bit, one of the things I studied quite thoroughly was the cold war.

What issues am I actually liberal on? You want to claim I'm not a centrist. I simply stated those who usually claim libertarian are those that deny they're republicans when their side loses

I was making a simple statement where did I claim you were a republican I was just saying its ben my observation that libertarians are often republicans in denial when they lose.

Remember you're the one making the accusation I'm not a centrist the onus is on you. Otherwise I say you're trying to pull the discussion off topic once again

So in other words you have no argument. How is showing the racism of political ads that are known for being racist liberal? How is following the rule of law liberal? Again you have to actually make an argument here which you've thus far failed to do.

So how is talking about right wing violence being a liberal? You know there is a center its not my fault if you're so far to the right everyone looks like an ultra-liberal

Yeah, he's EXACTLY like all the people that showed up at the town halls, especially the old people. Lump them all together. I mean, the pride and joy of our nation, Nancy Pelosi, pointed out brilliantly how they all carried swastikas to the meetings.
