Hal Turner has been denied bail due to being a threat to the community, a judge has ruled. Turner is charged with calling for the assassinations of 3 Federal judges, and then providing the names and addresses of those judges.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin Ashman, who sits in the Northern District of Illinois, issued the statement after a hearing in Chicago on Monday. Turner has been in custody in Chicago since he was moved there from New Jersey, where he was arrested by the FBI on June 24 for writing that three judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit should be killed for upholding a Chicago ban on handguns.

As far as I am concerned, let him rot.

I've never really liked stuff like this. They do it with the President (well more so with him) as well, and it doesn't sit well. I mean, sure if there is a credible threat then fine; something should be done to prevent an actual murder (regardless of status). But if it's something out of anger, or saying "blah blah blah is an act of treason and whoseitwhatsit should be executed for treason", which isn't so much an actual threat I think is something else. And no bail, I've kinda always had a problem with that as well. I think infinity is excessive, and that we should be protected from being given excessive bail. But whatever, I don't know the case too well, so maybe it's really all deserved.

But I guess I won't be saying what my opinion of Chicago politicians is is I can stay out of jail.

This guy used to say things like,

There is no way I would condone laying in wait with a sniper rifle for judge x to get home at 123 some street in his grey 2008 volvo because that would be illegal. And I would never approve of bashing his head in with a baseball bat because I could go to jail for that.
