The panel of speakers all joined Vitter in opposing the reform package being debated in Congress. Questions from audience members were screened and selected in advance of the event.

So it is just fine for Republicans to pre-screen questions at a supposed Town Hall, and most likely pack the forum with loyal supporters, but it is not okay for the President to do something similar? You do know that Bush never held a Town Hall that was not packed with supporters and had pre-screened questions? hell many of his press conferences were like that for peak sake!
It seems the polish has come off. As Obama plans a propaganda "town hall" stagecraft repleat with teleprompters and restricted access only to supporters, the backlash is growning stronger and stronger...
Let's hope, "No, he can't" is his legacy, for the sake of this great nation!
uhm it's "for pete's sake". /facepalm
And have anything on the topic or are you just going to make excuses?
Making excuses? You were the one that brought up his town hall in the OP regarding trinket sales that supposedly are down.. considering the source.. then well. And now you switching to attacking me just because I yet again called you out on your hypocritical attitude?
I swear, if I had a nickel for every time some Obama lickspittle said, "B-b-b-but Bush did it, too!!!!!1!!", I could finally buy my own island in the Caribbean.Louisiana's Vitter backs 'insurance associations,' prescription drug imports | thetowntalk.com | The Town Talk

"Change," my pasty white ass. Man up and take responsibility for your guy, just for once.
Mmm-hmm.Responibility for what? We are discussing 2 things here.
1. The supposed fall in trinket sales according the far right moonie newspaper Washington Times.
2. Obama holding a town hall where according to the OP, it is stacked with supporters and the questions are screened.
On the first one.. being from the Washington Times.. well that about says it all.
On the second one, I only pointed out the fact that one of the GOPs self proclaimed "leaders" held a "Town Hall" a few days ago, where most questions were pre screened and odds on the hall was stacked with supporters. I also reminded the OP that under the Bush administration it was standard operating procedure to do exactly what he now finds "horrible and funny".
So we now have the OP, in another bashing Obama thread, using the supposed falling sales of Trinkets from a right wing moonie owned newspaper and then coming with the mocking comment about him holding a "Town Hall" propoganda meeting with supposed screen questions and yet the OPs "own side" does it all the time..
How much of a double standard do you want?
This thread belongs in the "Bash Obama section of these boards" and not in breaking news.
Mmm-hmm.
Like I said, "Bush did it, too!" is not a valid criticism. Try again.

No, how about Obama was supposed to bring change to Washington? Remember that?Okay how about.. DeVitter did it too? McCain did it too? Want to go on?
Actually, that's pretty much what I'm doing. It is not unfair to point out selective criticism.

It would be ironic if you were, though ...Eh, sorta. And you will notice I am not actually criticizing you for it.

Pete as usual you fail
pointing to past bad behavior to justify current bad behavior is still bad behavior
and maybe you would be so kind as to dig up just one or two examples of people on here saying it was right when bush or devitter did it, otherwise STFU
We've been telling you Obama's no better than Bush for months now. Maybe you're starting to awaken to that fact? But that does not change the very fact that the OP is criticizing Obama for something that politicians in the party of "NO" including former Presidents have done time and time again and are still doing as my link proved.
And that aint what I am doing. I am pointing out the hypocrisy of the original poster.
You cant criticize a person for doing something that you or your own people has done more than once..it is just an own goal of epic proportions.
Now my personal opinion about Obama doing this, if it is true, is that it is wrong. He should not pad the Town Hall with supporters or pre screen the questions. He needs to grab the bull by the horns so to say.

I don't think that is true. Obama is worlds better than Bush, he is just not perfect.
