From ABC, August 10, in reaction to Pelosi/Hoyer's Op Ed in USA Today suggesting that the town hall troublemakers are unAmerican.

1. More cracks in leadership solidarity

2. Up til last week there was scant seen a sliver of light separating Pelosi from the prez

3. Obama vs the bluedogs, Obama vs CBO, Obama vs the gubs, yes

4. But Obama and Pelosi were ONE

5. The pressure's getting to em, they're beginning to FALL out

6. The last few days they've been bickering over those jet aircraft the princess pines for

7. Word is today, she's not gonna get em

8. And that was the White House, Defense Dept, that pulled that particular plug, GROUNDING her

9. Watch Obama's very OWN town hall tomorrow in Portsmouth, NH, it's gonna be fascinating

10. Unless he hand picks his audience, he's gonna get GRILLED, respectfully, of course

White House Disputes Pelosi Contention that Town Hall Protests are "Un-American" - Political Punch

The White House disagreed this afternoon with the contention by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Maryland, that the disruptions at town hall meetings are "un-American," as the Democratic congressional leaders contended in a USA Today op-ed this morning.

"I think there's actually a pretty long tradition of people shouting at politicians in America," White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton told reporters on Air Force One when asked about the comments.

"The President thinks that if people want to come and have a spirited debate about health care, a real vigorous conversation about it, that's a part of the American tradition and he encourages that, because people do have questions and concerns ...And so if people want to come and have their concerns and their questions answered, the President thinks that's important. Now, if you just want to come to a town hall so that you can disrupt and so that you can scream over another person, he doesn’t think that that's productive. And as a country, we've been able to make progress when people actually talk out what our problems are, not try to shout each other down."

At his town hall meeting in Portsmouth, NH, tomorrow, Burton said, President Obama "thinks that we're going to be able to have a constructive conversation tomorrow and he'll continue to do that at the town hall later in the week and throughout this effort."

aren't you the fella who wrote the following:

Well if there is a specific point of contention, point it out and dispute it. Show your sources, credible ones at that. But you now fall right into the same group as Palin, Beck, and co. and being capable of only telling lies, but not refuting them. Is there anything equal to Kill Granny and Big Govt. will be accessing your checking account? Euthanasia, govt. will decide who gets treatment, illegals will free healthcare, everyone will lose their coverage, and other nonsense.

LOLOLOL!

Of course "Obama" is going to disagree with them on this publicly. I doubt very seriously that his rejection is sincere. Way too late for it to be. If it had been then he would have said something about it the next day in person instead of letting it go on for so long and letting someone else speak on it. This is just a political move to keep votes. Nothing more.

1. The planes are gonna get pulled

2. Murtha, on behalf of the palsied speakeress, has presented parliamentary apology

3. The point---it's the White House that has put down Ms P

4. That's called infighting

5. The whole thing has been an embarrassment---to Pelosi

6. The White House comes off uncharacteristically accountable

7. Dems in the Senate have been repulsed from the start

Congressional jets may be scrapped - John Bresnahan - POLITICO.com

The new congressional jets may be getting scrapped.

After an uproar over a proposed purchase of new executive jets for use by senior government officials, including members of Congress, the top Defense appropriator in the House has offered to eliminate funding for the planes – but only if the Pentagon, which operates the jets, agrees.

If the Department of Defense does not want these aircraft, they will be eliminated from the bill,” Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), the chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommitee said Monday evening.

And in his statement, Murtha basically put the blame on the Pentagon, whose spokesman has been quoted saying that the House Appropriations Committee added four executive jets beyond the Pentagon’s original request.

Murtha also needled the Pentagon a bit, saying that “85 percent” of the use of these aircraft comes from the executive branch, and not Congress.

Murtha’s move may end what has been an embarrassing uproar for House appropriators, who approved the Defense spending bill with no objection about the congressional jets. There is already a movement in the Senate to kill the funding for the aircraft.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said the funding “kind of makes me sick to my stomach,” and has vowed to kill it. Sens. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), both senior members of the Armed Services Committee, have also voiced their opposition to the plan.

The controversy is not going unnoticed in the Senate Democratic leadership circles either. Senate insiders said the Senate Appropriations Committee is unlikely to approve the additional plane funding, although Sen. Dan Inouye (D-Hawaii), the chairman of the panel, was unavailable for comment on Monday.

10. Unless he hand picks his audience, he's gonna get GRILLED, respectfully, of course.

No one needs to grill these thugs, they just need to ask them if they are going to give up their plans and have the same one they want to foist on all of us. If the answer is no; then ask why?

The answers to those questions will be more than enough for the American people to make up their minds about the merits of a Government program.

While we are at it, I would like Americans to start asking their representatives and President why they exempt themselves from Social Security as well. What's with that?

If you went to public school...I want my money back.

Nice little troll and insult. But then, this is what one can expect from Libruls who cannot defend their political positions with anything more than "because you say so", lies and innuendo.

How is this breaking news? It's Jake Tapper's take.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

it's nobody's take, silly

it's fait accompli

Congress drops plan to spend $550 million on new jets - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. House leaders have dropped plans to spend $550 million in the Air Force budget on passenger jets used by lawmakers and senior government officials, officials said on Monday.

The House of Representatives reversed the move to upgrade the executive jet fleet after public criticism, opposition from other lawmakers and the Defense Department had said it did not need more planes that it had requested.

"If the Department of Defense does not want these aircraft, they will be eliminated from the bill," Representative John Murtha, chairman of a House panel on defense appropriations, said in a statement.

A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she supports the decision.

there ya go!
