Cash-strapped Cuba says toilet paper running short

Let them emulate the holy Prophet Muhammad, the uswa hasana, the perfect model and excellent example for emulation by using their left hands like virtually all pious Muslims the world over do.

Is that why Muslims have brown left hands ?

Yes there is a solution; get rid of the corrupt Communist leadership that has run this country into the ground with their asinine policies.

Why don't we worry about our own corrupt leadership and asinine policies?

Not that you're actually serious, but I thought I'd correct this ignorance before it goes any further. I don't think that Muslims are any more likely to use their hands to wipe than other individuals. It's primarily based on poverty. Look at India or China for examples.

We're trying to deal with them, but you keep coming to their defense.

Has it occurred to people like you that it's possible to not use health care and still be sanitary? Not only that, that it's possible to be MORE sanitary without using toilet paper?

Geeze, the ignorance of people. Do you think the entire world uses toilet paper?

Not sure if you were just dying to pop off at someone or what, but you sure do make a lot of assumptions based on one short sentence, aside from apparently misreading it in the first place.

But I'm glad you got it off your chest, whatever it is.

With urban farms sprinkled throughout the island, Cuba is proving to be one of the world's most successful models of how to integrate agriculture into urban areas.

"Now, in the wake of three hurricanes that wiped out 30 percent of Cuba's farm crops, the communist country is again turning to its urban gardens to keep its people properly fed."

"Around 15 percent of the world's food is grown in urban areas, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a figure experts expect to increase as food prices rise, urban populations grow and environmental concerns mount."

"Since they sell directly to their communities, city farms don't depend on transportation and are relatively immune to the volatility of fuel prices, advantages that are only now gaining traction as "eat local" movements in rich countries."

"In Cuba, urban gardens have bloomed in vacant lots, alongside parking lots, in the suburbs and even on city rooftops."

"They have proven extremely popular, occupying 35,000 hectares (86,000 acres) of land across the Caribbean island. Even before the hurricanes, they produced half of the leaf vegetables eaten in Cuba, which imports about 60 percent of its food."

Yet they cannot wipe their asses...

Craziness.

The toilet paper issue is nothing new. When I visited over there guess what we had to buy a ton of.

Healthy in Cuba, Sick in America? - ABC News

Anyone who's seen Michael Moore's film "Sicko" will recall the scene in which he shouts with a bullhorn as his boat takes a group of people, including Sept. 11 workers, to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, where he says prisoners get better health care than Americans.

Just a reminder about the direction Obama @ Co. moves us to. It was called “deficit” in The USSR. Coffee was deficit. Toilet paper was deficit. What a coincidence Obama @ Co. are running an amok of deficit on us.

I cannot find a video about Williams shocked to see that coffee was not deficit in the US, I think toilet paper was mentioned as deficit in the movie too; and don’t forget the Soviets had free health care and in New York people were free at those ancient times when Obama was not running amok upon freedoms of Americans. I remember like it was yesterday, arriving in NY and seeing free people. What has happened to America willing to trade freedoms for the illusion of the free lunch, I mean health care? So much ready to go paperless to save environment?

Found the part about deficit of coffee

The same was about deficit of toilet paper

The same was about deficit of free health care

The name of the phenomenon was DEFICIT.

It was not so long ago, just like yesterday, - who has erased the genetical memory of Americans about their freedoms? What can be more of a value for a man rather than his freedom? Can life and/or health and/or paperless stink be more of a value? If one says so I claim him to be defending values of a slave.

Another victory for communism.

Indeed. Considering the anti-Leninist inclinations of legitimate communists and the impediments to the establishment of socialism created by state control, perhaps this will discredit the authoritarians further and illustrate the counterfeit nature of their misappropriation of the terms "socialist" and "communist."

They can always use the Marxist tract books.
As a matter of fact I believe they already do use them for this purpose.
