My Way News - Palin says Obama's health care plan is 'evil'

Aug 8, 4:33 AM (ET)

By MARK THIESSEN

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called President Barack Obama's health plan "downright evil" Friday in her first online comments since leaving office, saying in a Facebook posting that he would create a "death panel" that would deny care to the neediest Americans.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care," the former Republican vice presidential candidate wrote.

"Such a system is downright evil," Palin wrote on her page, which has nearly 700,000 supporters. She encouraged her supporters to be engaged in the debate.

I am glad to see Sarah Palin is speaking out and I have coma acrossed a video that tells the truth about Sarah Palin and why we should stand behind and support her. She has created such fear in the hearts and minds of Liberals it's a wonderful thing.

Sarah Palin is just using talking points from other politicians, which is no surprise. There is no death panel except in her head.

wtf? What does she mean by that? Under UHC everyone is worthy of health care. That's the whole point of UHC.

I guess she thinks it's much better to stand in front of an insurance company's "death panel", then. Yay, status quo.

Of course she does. Does anyone actually expect coherence from this woman?

You know, I seem to remember her saying that she reads voraciously...

"All of 'em, any of 'em that have been in front of me over all these years." --Sarah Palin, unable to name a single newspaper or magazine she reads, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008

I think it's a sure bet she hasn't actually read the plan, and is simply a dedicated member of the Republican Echolalia Party.

Palin is politically dead. having said that I look forward to her 2112 run where she will split what is left of the Republican party and set them to fighting tooth and nail among themselves.

I doubt she will run in 2112...

Evilllllllll

Folks are freaking out. I saw a story on tv the other night where the state of Oregon denied payment for a woman's chemo drugs but sent her a letter offering to pay for assisted suicide instead. Let me see if I can find it online.....

Hot Air Blog Archive Video: Oregon says no to chemotherapy, offers assisted suicide instead

Apparently it's an older story but I just saw it on tv the other night so it's obviously being hauled out and retold to get folks all worked up.

There are lots of folks who fear they might get similar letters under an Obama plan.

As for me I'd just like to hear some actual details which are quite lacking. It's surprising how for and against Obama's plan folks are when I know next to nothing about it and apparently neither does anyone else.

Hey, she's a healthy gal, she might make it!

(If she does, I'm sure folks will "rush" to the polls!)

I think she will even if she has to form her own party. She is surrounded by people who tell her everyday what a great president she will make. If she doesn't run for pres the nominee may have to pick her for VP just to get her worshipers to the polls.

Amazingly enough, many other countries have managed to build government healthcare plans that don't result in the complete breakdown of society. Does Palin have so little faith in America that she doesn't believe we can at least match the Europeans?

The death panels exist today when your private insurer decides not to cover you. In fact, some people don't even make it to the death panel because they have no coverage to start with.

Excellent question!

Correct! HMO and health insurance firms make these kinds of decisions all the time. The difference is that under a government-run plan you eliminate the profit motive of the decision-maker.

I'd be interested in knowing how many people will die because of the delay tactics and foot-dragging by Republicans who are doing the bidding of the HMOs and Big Pharma, which oppose this plan.

It is good to know that you have found humor.

The only fear she has generated is in the minds of the people who follow her. As far as liberals are concerned they think she is funniest person to come along in years and every time she gets near a microphone she makes even more of a caricature of her self.

I'd pay attention to her if she did a Playboy spread:mrgreen:

I'm pretty sure she's talking about the very old. Is a 90 year old worthy of a new hip? There's been talk about that. That we spend 25% of costs in the last year.

And Palin wonders why people attack her family. She's abusing her family for political gains. I'm glad that she's proud of her child for what he or she is (is Trig a boy or a girl? Trig seems like a unisex name), but putting your family into every conversation? Every picture? Every opportunity?

In addition, I'm sure Palin knows what evil is since...

Care to show us exactly where in the bill that it gauruntees healthcare to everyone? Betcha can't find it.

That would depend on how healthy/independent/mobile the candidate is. You think HMOs would grant this operation at the blink of an eye?

Betcha cannot find where the bill calls for "death panels" either.

I do not think Palin realizes just how amusing she is. The idea that liberals are afraid of her is even more amusing.

Maybe not now, but when John "One heart attack away" McCain was running for president, you guys were scared. You can't deny that.

I must say I'm absolutely surprised....

A conservative actually is the one that started a Palin thread for once

;)

Yeah calling a piece of legislation like this "evil" is just idiotic and an appeal to the LCD

Actually my reaction was somewhat different from that. I was actually excited when McCain announced Palin, thinking it might be an interesting election after all. Palin was great, right up till she started talking.
