ruling by U.S. District Judge Casey Rodgers states that the nine properties that make up Dinosaur Adventure Land as well as two bank accounts associated with the park will be used to satisfy $430,400 owed to the federal government.

Kent Hovind, who founded the park and a ministry, Creation Science Evangelism, is serving 10 years in federal prison for failing to pay the Internal Revenue Service more than $470,000 in employee taxes.

He was found guilty in November 2006 on 58 counts, including failure to pay employee taxes and making threats against investigators.

The conviction culminated 17 years of Hovind sparring with the IRS. Saying he was employed by God and his ministers were not subject to payroll taxes, he claimed no income or property.
I bet a number of people are going to scream "persecution" over this, but the fact is that the people who owned the park were tax cheats.

Also, by attempting to make a legal claim that the park belonged to God, and that he only worked for God, and therefore did not own any property, and so was not the employer, and thus owed no payroll taxes, he showed just how dumb his is. Of course, he had already showed dumb he is in the first place by claiming that Jesus must have ridden a dinosaur, when the Bible says that he rode an ass. Maybe the ass Jesus rode was this idiotic creationist tax dodger.

If there's one thing the government HATES, it's not getting their money.

We're just countering the pro-tax liberals that have posted so far.

Obeying the law has always been a Conservative concept, and Conservatives have always had a "hang em high" attitude for those who break the law, as it should be. So, what's your problem? If you count yourself as countering the rule of law, you must be one of them Liberals, right?

Yet the socailists want to pretend the government doesn't use violence and threats of violence to collect taxes to support it's unconstitutional programs.

The Bush administration, and yes, even the Reagan administration, would have thrown these looneys in jail too. Don't like taxes? Then protest, and attempt to change the law. But do NOT break the law. There are penalties for doing so. And if you DO choose to break the law, then quit whining when you are caught, and accept the outcome that you are responsible for.

If the feds really wanted to punish the guy they should turn the Dino park into an abortion clinic or a gay night club.

Right.

If you'd bothered to read, I was discussing how government uses force and the perpetual denial of the socialists that this is so.

Do try to keep your answers consistent with the posts you're responding to.

No.

It's "Dinosaur Park".

Turn it into an exhibition about the reality of evolution and how the Creationist cranks are all wrong.

Well, Scarecrow, let it be known that, on this day, I gave you a 'thanks'.

I have to say, having just visited the Natural History Museum in DC and in NYC, both of which have excellent dinosaur and prehistoric exhibits, the bar has been set very high.

A good start would be to take the riding saddles off the Triceratops, and remove the Bam-Bam and Pebbles playing fetch with the Velociraptors.

Right.

I did read. You distinctly inferred that the government enforcing it's laws was the government forcing its will upon people through violence.

Tell me you did not post this:

Yet the socailists want to pretend the government doesn't use violence and threats of violence to collect taxes to support it's unconstitutional programs.
I merely corrected you. It is not extortion to force someone to obey existing laws. If you break the law, then expect to go to jail.

Enjoy your thanks from me, safe to say you won't get another

As with the others, I'm willing to give you a thanks for this.

Just so he doesn't let it go to his head, I'll point out that changing the Dino Park into a gay bar would much more profitable. Just pose the male cavemen accordingly, throw some lights on the T-Rex, setup a bar around the volcano, and...you're ready to party.

Exactly !! True conservatism includes the belief in the rule of law and the conserving of order through rules and laws.

I thought churches and religious ministries and institutions were tax-exempt.
Am I wrong about that?
Is there some stipulation that the religion in question can't be stupid?

The existing law says that the Congress cannot spend money on public education, PBS, nationalized retirement plans, General Motors takeovers, home loan guarantees, welfare, public broadcasting, and ethanol subsidies, and therefore all taxation to fund same are illegal taxes collected against the will of people.

True conservatism recognizes that just laws should be obeyed. The highest law in this country is the Constitution. True conservates consider laws in violation of that Constitution to be suitable for wrapping liberals in before disposing of them both.

True conservatives are thinkers, unlike their counterparts, the dedicated Messiah zealots.

:rofl:rofl:rofl
All "Conservatives" do are listen to Fox News, Conservative Talk Show Radio, or some wacko websites and spew the talking points. Then they all decide to agree on the same things. It's not a surprise to see liberals with completely different opinions of a subject but if a Republican votes against party lines then he or she's automatically not a Republican anymore.

Well, since they are creatonists, let them ask Jesus to create some money out of thin air for them, so they can get out of jail. After all, if you are going to have a belief, you might as well live it.
