More tomfoolery from the religion of peace. Total eradication of the species known as 'radical islamics' is necessary. Like child molesters, they cannot be cured or rehabilitated.

Eight Christians burnt to death in Pakistan after Koran is ‘defiled’

Paramilitary troops patrolled the streets of a town in eastern Pakistan yesterday after Muslim radicals burnt to death eight members of a Christian family, raising fears of violence spreading to other areas.

Hundreds of armed supporters of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, an outlawed Islamic militant group, set alight dozens of Christian homes in Gojra town at the weekend after allegations that a copy of the Koran had been defiled.

The mob opened fire indiscriminately, threw petrol bombs and looted houses as thousands of frightened Christians ran for safety. “They were shouting anti-Christian slogans and attacked our houses,” Rafiq Masih, a resident of the predominantly Christian colony, said.

Residents said that police stood aside while the mob went on the rampage. “We kept begging for protection, but police did not take action,” Mr Masih said.

Police and local officials said that at least eight people, including four women and a child, were killed in the fires. Two others died of gunshot wounds. Residents said that the casualties were much higher; one claimed that the number of dead could be in the dozens as many bodies were still buried under the rubble.Shahbaz Bhatti, the Minister for Minorities, said that 40 Christian homes were torched in rioting. He said there was no truth to allegations that a Koran had been defiled, and accused the police of ignoring his appeal to provide protection to Christians.

Tension started mounting last week after Muslims accused three Christian youths of burning a copy of the Koran. They denied the allegations, but clerics called for their death. On Saturday hundreds of supporters of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, an outlawed Sunni sectarian group, poured into the town from surrounding districts. The group is believed to have close links with al-Qaeda and has been involved in several terrorist attacks targeting security forces in recent years.

Television footage showed armed men running through the streets, gunfire, and women and children wailing. Blackened furniture lay outside burning homes, while a group of people rushed a man suffering from burns on a cart through the streets. Rehman Malik, the Interior Minister, said that the paramilitary troops were sent after police and the local administration failed to control the situation. Security forces were also placed on high alert to prevent violence from spreading to other towns of Punjab.

Security in Gojra, which has a Christian population of about 50,000, was tightened yesterday as funerals were held for the eight victims. Christians make up a small minority of Pakistan’s 160 million people and have been the target of attacks by Islamic extremists before, particularly in eastern Punjab.

Christians also face intimidation because of discriminatory blasphemy laws, including one that carries the death penalty for defiling the Koran and images of the Prophet Muhammad. The law is often misused to settle personal scores.

It’s just another typical day inside the Dar al Islam where Christian dhimmis are concerned. I wonder if the Euroloons are watching what goes on inside the Dar al Islam to gauge the way they eventually will be treated when Sharia is inevitably imposed around the middle of this century and most of Europe officially becomes a part of the Dar al Islam.

Islam is the only religion in the world that imposes its laws on non-Muslims.

. . . they cannot be cured or rehabilitated.
No, this is not true.

Much as I object to Violent Islam, if people cannot change, then we are merely animals, and it matters little which side wins.

If they change, we should embrace them.

If they don't we should fight them -- with alacrity and vigor.

The choice is in the hands of the aggressor.

Just think if they put that much energy into killing terrorists. Everybody would be better off.

Wow !!! WTFAYTA ?

Problem is that those who committed the murders of the Christians are terrorists!!

An outlawed Islamic group going nuts at something like this. Hardly shocking. I hope they all get what is coming to them.

Another example of man's inhumanity to man is all it is. If religion was not the cause they would find something else to riot about.

Mankind is one sick animal. :(

Interesting quote here. Got any evidence to back it up? As much as I despise these actions that both of these groups do (Child molesters and Radical Islam) I do not hold a masters degree in Psychology, I am assuming you must? In order to make such a claim, you had better have some good explaining as to why these two groups cannot be changed. Considering we changed an entire nation that was ran theocratically , we changed them into a democracy all it took was two nuclear bombs, and American influence in the nation for years to come, now they are our good ally. (Japan). So please, explain.

This thread had so much potential until the OP talked about genocide as the solution.

Sigh...

Nothing ever changes.

I suppose they also do not see the irony, Christians calling for the genocide...as if this is not something evil at all. I do notice sadly that any thread around hear that deals with anything remotely associated with Islam, Middle East, Terrorism, etc.. always boils down to jingoist bile.

Please point out where the OP said he was a Christian? Or where any Christian called for genocide?

Here are some of the Christians comments...

"Another example of man's inhumanity to man is all it is. If religion was not the cause they would find something else to riot about."

Nice hyperbole and bigotry on your part. :doh

Please do not be so bloody disingenuous as to suggest this person was just simply thining of providing more aid and education to impoverished regions. We are not exactly talking about an agent of peace and tolerance.

Oh, so they're not real Muslims. Right?

No they are not Muslims imo.

I assure you, i do not make it a sport to run around torching Christians

This is why theocracy is such a bad idea. Secular government is the way to go.

Now please don't lie again and address my question...

Well, all the real Muslims need to get it in gear and do something about all those posers making their religion look bad.

They are already outlawed by Pakistan it means they would most likely be hiding from the police over there

Looks like they did a piss poor job of it. Don't worry, we'll take care of the terrorists, so ya'll don't have to get your hands dirty killing your brother Muslims.

Done a bang up job so far .... *cough*

What's needed is secular govenrment. How long was Christianity abused at the hands of government? When Europe had its theocracies they were mostly Christian, and at that time the Christian religion acted not so differently than the Muslim religion now. But we figured out that theocracy perverts the religion, takes it over, warps it to make it work for State ideals, power, and land. Christianity, in order to protect Christianity, divorced itself from government and we instead created secular governments. That allowed the religion to be the religion, to grow and expand and to practice as they see fit. Christianity is not used as it once was, we've allowed it to be free. That's the beauty of secular government, it's for the benefit of religion itself. Theocracy will always lead to perversion of the religion.

Well, at least we tried...more than I can say for the rest of ya.

Historically, you're absolutely right when you say that Christians have done the same thing. The difference, though, is that the Christians have grown out of and Islam has failed to grow with the times.

I think I noted that difference. The best thing for the Muslim people to do would be to remove their religion from their government. It's the best way for them to protect their religion.

And we'll get there ... eventually.

Every religion has some type of reformation, Islam hasn't had one yet
