Teen shot to death during home invasion

Ive explained this already. Forget the addictive side even, these drugs are death in a needle. At least Alcohol consumption is good to a certain extent, heroin in no shape or form is good for you and very damaging to the mental and physical health of the body - the thought of this being easily obtained legally is frightening so lets move on.

So I take it that means you aren't going to admit that you pretended to have knowledge on this subject when you actually didn't?

Like I said before, benzos and alcohol are the only drugs with fatal withdrawals. Until you can prove otherwise, your opinion is worthless.

Heroin is definitely worse than alcohol in many many respects.

I was just pointing out that this "worst drug" does NOT have fatal withdrawal symptoms, while alcohol DOES have fatal withdrawals.

But alcohol is definitely one of the worst drugs around. No doubt about it.

Nobody who actually knows what the hell they are talking about would state otherwise.

If you don't believe me, believe these experts:

University of Victoria - Communications - Media Release

Alcohol, tobacco among riskiest drugs - Addictions- msnbc.com

Since you are claiming something that all experts disagree with you about, perhaps you can enlighten us as to why your opinion should be considered more valid than the facts?

What are you talking about? We're have i NOT stated facts? My stance was, heroin has lethal withdrawal symptoms, it is easy to get addicted to heroin than it is alcohol, and it is worse than alcohol and regulated or not, its bad for you in any amount, therefore should be illegal. My argument also was, this is the reason why Alcohol is/should be legal, because it is good for you until a certain extent as opposed to Heroin which is life destroying substance in any amount.

What are you talking about? We're have i NOT stated facts? My stance was, heroin has lethal withdrawal symptoms....

Your stance is NOT based in fact. The part I bolded has been proven wrong already in this thread yet you STILL repeat it. That's why your opinion is nonsense. It has no foundation in reality.

Of course not.

Major withdrawal symptoms peak between 48 and 72 hours after the last dose and typically subside after about a week; however, some individuals may show persistent withdrawal symptoms for months. Although heroin withdrawal is considered less dangerous than alcohol or barbiturate withdrawal, sudden withdrawal by heavily dependent users who are in poor health is occasionally fatal.

That's a product of underlying conditions. Heroin withdrawal itself is not fatal.

Great. So you're posting the exception as the rule. I can't tell if you're simply intellectually dishonest or ignorant about the topic at hand.

Just a question: You are aware that Heroine, this "bad" drug as you call it, is used in the medical field and serves a purpose, correct? You do also know that it is used in the UK under a different name, diamorphine(BAN), right?

Small amounts of Alcohol consumption is good for you.

Just a question, you do know im endorsing the illegalization of such drugs for the public to get there hands on? Im fully aware that such drugs are and can/need to be used in the medical fields, like steroids (wait, arent they present in such Asthma pumps - just a thought). Im advocating they remain illegal for the public, not from Doctors and Scientists who need them for scientific or medicine/health related issues.

I was told that Heroin in no way fatal on withdrawal. Im simply stating that yes, under some underlying conditions, it can be.

You're being dishonest. Eating a cheeseburger can be fatal. Should it be illegal? :doh

Again, if a Cheeseburger is OK in regular amounts, yet heroin, a lethal substance that is damaging to ones mental and physical health, regardless of what amount it is taken in, then yes, Heroin should be illegal.

Alcohol consumption in general, or are you simply referring to wine and it's strong antioxidants? My point is that there are better alternatives which do the same thing.

Prove that it is damaging to one's physical and mental health regardless of the dose. Please try to support your arguments.

Are you suggesting Heroin has no serious negative effects on the body?

You are deflecting now. Prove that Heroine damages someone physically and mentally regardless of dose. That was your claim, support it with facts.

There are many different types of heroin effects that a drug user can experience, and heroin effects can be extremely detrimental to a person's mind and body. Heroin is an opiate derived from the drug morphine, and its highly addictive properties and quick acting-effects made it a popular street drug immediately.

Heroin is a relatively pricey drug, however, even after a person uses it for the first time, he/she will most likely become addicted to the heroin effects that are felt. The idea of 'heroin chic' was popularized through advertising and films in the eighties and early nineties and told viewers that heroin effects such as losing one's appetite and becoming ghastly and pale were attractive. In reality, a heroin user's body is unable to function normally, and once heroin is put into the body the person no longer has any desires but to find more of the drug.

Also, Heroin abuse can cause violent and continous vomiting and can deprive the body of sufficient oxygen and starve the brain of vital substances as a result. It can impair the vision and cause damage to the retina, and does not readily dissolve so can cause clogging of the arteries, veins and heart, insomnia which can also be life threatening and so on.

I do not know how to make this any clearer: Show that Heroine causes damage physically and mentally to the user REGARDLESS OF DOSAGE. Your post mentions nothing of dosage.

And im bigoted for ignoring points you apparently have repeatedly stated

I never said you were bigoted. I said your opinion is based on nonsense.

It is a fact that jogging kills more people each year than heroin withdrawal does. For the same reasons: Underlying health issues.

Just like when a person has a heart attack while jogging, they were killed by the underlying condition. To attribute that death to "jogging" is simply retarded. It is caused by poor health.

Would you attribute such a heart attack to jogging?

If not, then your argument is dishonest.

If so, you must be in favor of a ban on jogging.

Heroin

3rd bullet point.

In small amounts heroin makes people very talkative, energized, impassioned and confident. But even in small amounts, heroin can cause clogging of the lungs and the vascular tubes of the upper regions of the body, become the underlying cause of early age dementia, as well as playing a large factor in HIV/AIDS cases. Heroin, regardless of dosage, has a tendency to intefere with the biological proceedings of the brain and block vital hormones that cause sleep, growth and general mental development.
