IF this woman is guilty of cutting the baby out of victim and killing her hopefully she gets the death penalty(or it is one of those scumbag sympathizers states then hopefully she gets life in prison without parole)

WORCESTER, Mass. - A Massachusetts woman accused of cutting the fetus out of her pregnant friend and then telling others she'd just had a baby girl was ordered held on $2 million bail Thursday, a day after she was found with the live infant at a homeless shelter.

Julie Corey, 35, of Worcester, Mass., who was arrested Wednesday at the shelter in Plymouth, N.H., appeared in Concord District Court via video from the county jail. She did not waive extradition to be brought back to Massachusetts. The judge scheduled a hearing for Aug. 30.

She said little during the hearing, at which Judge Gerald Boyle ordered all police affidavits in the case sealed.

Police say they were alerted by acquaintances who became suspicious of Corey's claims that she had just given birth, and then heard the news about a neighbor whose dead body was found in a closet, with a fetus removed from her womb.

The body of Darlene Haynes, a 23-year-old mother of three who was eight months pregnant, was found Monday in her Worcester, Mass., apartment by her landlord, who was led her by the "horrifying smell."

Neighbors say Corey and a man she was with at the homeless shelter, 27-year-old Alex Dion, used to live in the same building and knew Haynes through her boyfriend. Dion was taken into custody and released to a family member.

Baby girl in good condition
The baby girl was in good condition at a Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where she was brought in at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Hospital spokeswoman Michele Hutchins said the staff was working with police and state child protection authorities to resolve legal and custody issues for the baby, who is just days old.

Corey told acquaintances that she delivered the baby sometime late Thursday or early Friday at an undisclosed hospital, and by later Friday was showing the newborn off to acquaintances, police said.

"Some friends became a little concerned about how she got home so early after just giving birth," Worcester Police Sgt. Kerry Hazelhurst said.

The exact cause of Haynes' death has yet to be determined pending toxicology tests, but Worcester said the autopsy indicated Haynes suffered head injuries.

Haynes had a restraining order against her boyfriend, Roberto Rodriguez. Her landlord said Rodriguez moved out of the apartment last month.

I'd thank you, but you know how much I hate agreeing with you.

Yes, this woman should absolutely be put to death. I'm just thinking of those poor orphans left behind.

Ok, that might be the worst thing I have ever heard.

I guess simply finding a man was just too much of a problem and out of the question????

This is not uncommon.
I read of at least one case per year in the US, and more typically 2 or 3.

Weirdly, in many of the cases I've read about, the "baby-stealers" already have children of their own.
It defies comprehension.

There typically seems to be some motive about needing a baby to keep a man.
You know, the baby-stealer told her boyfriend she was pregnant although she wasn't, and then feels pressured to produce a baby from somewhere.
It's bizarre in the extreme.

So then crazy like i first suspected.

They lie about being pregnant and then are caught up in this lie and at the end of the 9 months they have to produce a baby one way or another and opt for cutting another womans womb open to steal the baby?

Which brings me to the next question, how do they find a pregnant (about to give birth) woman? And how do they do the 'cutting' of the womb?

What? I would say 1 to 3 cases a year is pretty rare.

I've read of cases where the pregnant woman was a friend previous to becoming pregnant (therefore, she was targeted out of convenience, simply because she was there, and pregnant).
I've read of at least one case, in Oklahoma, where the victim, an employee at an indian casino, seems to have been targeted randomly.
I've read of several other cases where the "baby-stealer" met the pregnant woman after she was already pregnant and lured her into a friendship.
This is the creepiest of all, I think, because it points to an extreme level of premeditation. Imagine seeking somebody out and making friends with them, knowing all the while that in a few months, you'll be killing them.

That is the stuff of nightmares.
That is seriously creepy, they seem to be mentally unstable to be able to do that.
I'd go nuts if i was playing friends with someone and plotting to kill them

There was one not too long ago a women trolling on Craiglist trying to purchase things for her 'baby' so she could find pregnant women, and do just that. And if I am not mistaken, she was successful- in finding a pregnant woman, and then befriending her, killing her, and cutting out her baby.
