GOP congressman compares Obama to Hitler
Appearing on Alex Jones' wacky conspiracy theory radio show, Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert has claimed that President Obama's health care plan will be a form of socialism which will "kill senior citizens". He also claimed that the government will "tell you what you eat, what you drink, how you exercise, (and) where you live". He was just getting started. He went on to state that the government will mandate when Americans will be permitted to have children, comparing this to a government program to limit the population of wild horses.


So far we haven't seen "dictate", just lies and distortions about what it will provide and how much it will cost; but give these cretins time, I am sure they will get to the dictate stage and then we will all be royally screwed.

So far, there is no single plan. There are competing ideas and no firm reconciliation between factions so I am not sure what lies and distortions you refer to?


Really; how is this possible? Have you looked at the confiscatory tax rates other countries are paying for their systems? Have you seen the waiting lists? Have you seen the shortage of doctors and technological breakthroughs?

I don't know what your situation is but many people in my state (Maine) look longingly at the health care that Canadians receive. You can boast that the system works for YOU but don't speak for most people. If you happen to be among the millions in the U.S. who cannot buy insurance or have experienced recission at the hands of unscrupulous insurers, you would not be so satisfied.
I am fascinated when people argue FOR mediocrity and not demand better.

Since Americans spend double what other countries spend on H.C., we should be able to do better than the mess that we have.
I had a debate with a Canadian friend about waiting times and their response was basically; “I have no problem waiting for something as mundane as acid reflux if others are in greater need first.”

My response was why ANYONE should have to wait; we certainly don't have to in this country....YET.

That depends. The woman who testified in Congress last month, had to wait 6 months for breast cancer surgery because her company practiced recission. Meanwhile, her tumor doubled in size.
 
Each day delayed is a good thing for the insurance companies and their lobbyists. It means millions in their pockets every day it's delayed.

If this turd passes with little GOP support, the disaster will be the Republicans' fault, but the damn people are so friggin' stupid they'll think it's the Democrats' fault because they're the ones that passed. Stupid silly voters, they might even stop voting for the Messiah and his party.
