Sergeant at eye of storm says he won't apologize

Keep drinkin' that Kool-aid, bud.

The President of the United States just did a major official favor for a personal friend. He slandered the cops.

And if he had not supported his friend, you guys would be saying he threw him under a bus.

The modis operandi of the right-wing is all too predictable, ...and lame.

Actually, if he had not slandered the police in support of his friend, I wouldn't have even given it a thought.

You mean like he did his white grandmother?

Yeah, your Messiah is good for tricks like that.

The correct response to the question was: "That's something for the parties involved to resolve."

Why would Gates' need Dear Leader's support? Disturbing the peace is a misdemeanor--little more than a traffic ticket when all is said and done.

All Dear Leader needed to say was something like "I don't have all the facts and so I don't wish to comment on it--I know Gates personally, and it would be wrong for me to speculate at this time."

Not every situation calls for an opinion.

You make good points, but IMO, you must also ask if the police officers version of events is correct.

Personally, I think it is, but...

Certainly. An investigation into the facts would be warranted, if there are charges of misconduct. I don't always accept the LE version of events, cops are human too.

If there was police misconduct, which I doubt but if there was, then let the chips fall where they may and such disciplinary measures as are appropriate. I'd say the same whether it was a white subject or black or hispanic or Sumatran.

The "right-wing"????

Umm....Massachusetts is generally left wing, and they are not pleased with Dear Leader's sudden case of foot-in-mouth:

But many in Massachusetts said he crossed a line by passing judgment on police while acknowledging he did not have all the facts. Online polls in Massachusetts show strong support for the white arresting officer. A police union and his department's chief also came out strongly in his defense.
Dear Leader knew he didn't have all the facts, he said he didn't have all the facts, but with little more information than a white police officer arrested his black buddy, Dear Leader was able to pronounce on national TV that the Boston PD "acted stupidly."

That little remark will likely cost Dear Leader dearly in his polling numbers--and once his poll numbers get below 50%, he's done for (that's the vulnerability in governing based on personality and ability to read from a teleprompter--once you are moved off script you're toast).

Hi, Rush limbaugh, is that you? (he said exactly this today)...... :ssst:

He did huh? Well, glory be. Maybe there's some hope for Limbaugh after all. ;)

Besides, even a broken clock is right twice a day. :rofl

You know, when some white people are accused of being racist, they will say "I know a black guy" or "I have a black friend", which usually makes the situation worse. However, in this case, the police officer's actions over the course of a lifetime prove that he does not have a racist bone in his body. Not only did he grow up with black kids, some of whom are friends to this day, but he is also the officer who attempted to save the life of a Cambridge University basketball player who collapsed on the court, and later died. Are his actions that of a racist? Hell no. What we witnessed with this story was an act of race baiting by the college professor. Morale of this story? Black people can be racists too.

Article is here.

They both owe each other an apology. The cop owes Gates an apology for the bad arrest. Gates owes the cop an apology for calling him a racist.

President Obama should have just been quiet. Had he not said anything I don't think this would have gone anywhere. Jerks meet on the street every day and live up to their monikers. This was just another day.

Until the President decided to get involved.

Why is he publicly taking sides anyway?

:doh
