Sotomayor draws praise from GOP critics

Thoughts? YES!

I think Republicans will praise her and vote for her because they, the Republicans, have no clue and are basically stupid.

Now there's a thought!

This doesn't seem very reasonable.

I learned recently that judges were originally supposed to go though congressional hearings not so that the senators can see if they agree with the judges or not, but to see if they are qualified. If this is true, then there is no reason to vote against Sotomayor- she is plenty qualified. Plus, it's not like Obama is going to put forward a better option, and it's not like her replacing Souter will make any difference on the court.

I agree.

However, if you will remember, not that long ago, Mr. Bush put up two very qualified individuals for the Court, John G. Roberts, Jr. and Samuel A. Alito. Gee, guess who voted against them.....Bobo.

If the Republicans were smart....not ever going to happen....they would throw every road block and administrative monkey wrench they can find to block this nomination. There ought not be a single Republican vote for this nominee.

But like I said, IF the Republicans were smart. They are not. There will be many Republican votes for this Supreme court Mistake.

So because someone else was a douchebag in the past, the Republicans should act like douchebags now?

If someone wants to oppose Sotomayor because they don't believe she'd be a good Justice, that's fine. If they're opposing her simply because Obama opposed Alito/Roberts, then they're an idiot.

Yes

and

Yes

I think you are catching on.

Apparently, she isn't the racist activist that many have made her out to be. Thoughts?
Well, she's undeniably at least mildly racist by her own words, so we can dispense with that question.

As for being an activist, I rather think it's much the same as me me being a motorcycle stuntman. I want to be one, but I don't have the guts.

Problem is, she's no racist. Epic Fail right wingers.

I'm really too tired to argue the obvious.

Stating that one racial group is likely to have greater wisdom than another is no different than ascribing differing rhythm, honesty, or intelligence to them.

She did so repeatedly, and only someone detached from reality would deny her racism.

Hopefully, its only a minor blemish, such as most people have, and she'll overcome it.

I'm sure the "club" would love to hear that ear in Texas.;)
