Why? Because he's dead. That's why. Our troops are bad asses, but they're not bad asses like that. When we figure out how to resurrect someone, so we can kill him again, we'll be bad to the bone.

Holy ****, please tell me you're not serious.

Are you actually arguing that 7 year old articles covering reports that Bin Laden may have died according to this one guy who heard something one time are proof positive that he's dead?

Take a closer look at your articles - do you notice something interesting? They all claim he died in 01 or 02, although they can't seem to agree on when.

And yet, despite that, there are videos that have been confirmed by experts as showing bin laden that were released after those dates. Incredible!

There are also articles claiming he died in 04, 06 and 07, variously attributing his death to lung failure, liver failure, typhoid, military strikes, and mutiny by his own troops. Are they all true? Which ones are true?

There is a competent and rational argument to be made that it's unlikely that Bin Laden is still alive. Unfortunately, you seem to be doing your best not to make it.

I'm not the one claiming that I have any idea what happened to him. I'm simply pointing out that citing a dozen reports most of which disagree with each other doesn't do much to strengthen your case.

The fact of the matter is that what we know is that Bin Laden was alive in 04, and was likely alive for some substantial period of time after that. Whether or not he is still alive, nobody knows. To claim otherwise is foolish.

Because there is no universally accepted standard in the West for transliterating Arabic words and names into English, bin Laden's name is spelled in many ways. The version often used by most English-language mass media is Osama bin Laden. Most American government agencies, including the FBI and CIA, use either "Usama bin Laden" or "Usama bin Ladin", both of which are often abbreviated to UBL.

I prefer to use, "UBL", because several years ago someone got their panties in a knot over it because Usama started with, "USA", and they found that offensive. It's the reason you'll never hear any reporter use Usama. The offensive nature of it is exactly the reason I use it.
