CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - BREAKING: Minnesota’s highest court rules for Al Franken - Blogs from CNN.com

Title speaks for itself.. looks like it is time for Pawlenty to step up to the plate here.

edit. and let me guess this is a breaking news violation because CNN posts its political breaking news in what is labeled a blog page??

Pawlenty has already said he is going to sign the election certificate. This should be the end of the matter. The Republican dominated Minnesota Supreme Court ruled unanimously.

That I am aware of, which is why it is time for him to step up to the plate :)

Re: BREAKING: Minnesota's highest court rules for Al Franken

Might be a bit trickier than that. Pawlenty said he'd sign the certification if the court "ordered" him to.

DEEP BRAIN DIARY Minnesota Supreme Court Sides with Franken

I don't see a direct quote or link to an article of him saying these things. All I see is you saying in your blog that he did. Not that I doubt you, but it's nice to have something more concrete than a blog, let alone your own personal one.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I found a transcript of it.

PAWLENTY: I’m going to follow the direction of the court, John. We expect that ruling any day now. I also expect them to give guidance and direction as to the certificate of election. I’m prepared to sign it as soon as they give the green light.

So your assertions are a bit disingenuous, wouldn't you say? He said that he was following the direction of the court, and was waiting for the green light. You make it sound as if he's refusing to do so unless the court orders him to do so.

It's a BN rules violation because:
  1. You didn't quote any part of it in your OP,
  2. You didn't offer approximately 4 lines of your own commentary to start off a discussion,
  3. Even though it's CNN, it's a blog, not an actual news article.

Its time for him to stop whining like a little bitch.

1) I quoted the articles title, at the time it was not more than 2 sentences long since it was umm breaking..

2) I offered commentary that started the discussion, observe the input prompted by my statement that it was time for pawlenty to step up to the plate. ~4 is just that approximately.. instead of 100 lines 1 is a good approximation,

3) it is a political news ticker, despite the actual page address. I dont pick where CNN posts its breaking news.

4) I dont care.

Re: BREAKING: Minnesota's highest court rules for Al Franken

I cannot believe how stupid people are. AL FRANKEN!? This country is full of fools.

Then you won't care when the mods change it or move it to a more appropriate forum.

If he really is waiting to be ordered then he has lost whatever little respect I still had for him. That is being childish on his part !!!

Update : he said "waiting for green light" so I will restore my respect for him. I bet he was worried, right !!! LOL

Court declares Franken the winner of Minnesota Senate race - CNN.com

(CNN) -- Minnesota's Supreme Court has dismissed former Sen. Norm Coleman's challenge to the state's November election results and declared Democratic challenger Al Franken the winner.

Yup "waiting for the green light" is a light year away from "being ordered to". I fell for reports of the later.

Maybe people should earn a place in a mod-controlled social group to be able to post BN thread.

I mean, if you just don't care about the rules at all, why should they let you make a thread at all?

Franken is not the first, nor will he be the last. The political scene is full of idiots. But he won, and this should have been over a long time ago.

Coleman should just find another career after losing to a comedian and a dead guy. :doh

And to think it all could have easily been avoided if you had read the rules before posting.

Re: BREAKING: Minnesota's highest court rules for Al Franken

Hey Jerry... you'd make a most excellent mod. :)

The fact that no one can seem to follow the BN rules is somewhat of a pet-peeve with me.

Does no one remember what it was like before those rules were adopted?

Whatever, I said my piece on it. I don't have anything on the topic itself so I'll bow out now :2wave:

Idiot? I daresay Al Franken has at least the intellect you do. He is committed to honorably serving his country, despite his shady past as a comedian. I suspect all the "idiots" you see just happen to be Democrats.

By the way, this is obviously breaking news, and I think Jerry is making a fool of himself carping about the fine print.

The GOP lowered the bar admitting idiots to public office when the shrub became president....I can't fault the DEMS for taking advantage of the situation.

Re: BREAKING: Minnesota's highest court rules for Al Franken

Al Franken was a fairly influential political commentator for twelve years before the election, anyway, not merely a transplanted comedian.

we all do at one time or another, and Jerry, tho talented in that respect, is far from being the champion fool....
