North Korea Threatens to Shoot Down Intruding Japanese Planes - North Korea | Map | Government - FOXNews.com

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea threatened Saturday to shoot down any Japanese planes that intrude into its airspace, accusing Tokyo of spying near one of its missile launch sites.

The North has designated a no-sail zone off its eastern coast from June 25 to July 10 for military drills, raising concerns that it might test-fire short- or mid-range missiles in the coming days, in violation of a U.N. resolution.

North Korea's air force said Japan's E-767 surveillance aircraft conducted aerial espionage near the Musudan-ri missile site on its northeast coast Wednesday and Thursday.

If they do then this would be an Act of War

I was hoping that the North koreans were behaving the way they only because they are spoiled children in search of attention from the adult nations of the world. I knew that those hopes were slim that I was correct but I now beleieve that they are not only spoiled brats but probably just plain crazy !!!

No, they behave like this because THEY CAN!!!!!!!! Obama is a maggot out of a monkey's ass.

Until someone gets us contradicting i nformation we will have to take your word for as to the aoriginal home of the POTUS. I for one do not have any first hand knowledge or interest of either the entrails or the proctology of monkeys but if you have that expertise we of course thank you profusely for sharing those facts with us. I am sure that someone will treasure your words for eterinity.

The thing is, no one seems interested in calling NK on all these threats.

.......

Why would it be an Act of War if NK shot down a Japanese plane intruding in NK Airspace?

If another country sent a plane into U.S. airspace we would shoot it down as well, same as Japan.

I think it's just best to let the toothless NK's throw their little hissy-fits. I know as long as we keep rewarding them for it, it will continue.

In Psyche .101, Behavior Modification classes we were taught to put a child who throws their hissy-fits for attention on "extinction." In other words, ignore them. Never reward a negative behavior with a positive reinforcement.

NK knows thay don't stand a chance in a confrontation with the US no more than a fart has a chance in a whirlwind.

As I understand it, some countries claim more airspace then they are entitled to by international law (12 miles from shore?).

I'm not sure where this incident took place.

That's how it always worked when I played Civilization.

Don't sell my farts short. They can destroy a whirlwind.

Then why don't you jump on a Japanese fish boat and let one loose off the coast of NK?

Agreed.

NK would then be raped by a whole gang of nations.

We all know NK is bluffing. They have been threatening war with SK for months now, even going as far as saying the armistice is null-in-void, so the chance of them risking it all over 1 little alleged spy plane is unlikely.

Soviet aircraft invaded American airspce numerous times and we never shot one down. There was a damn good reason we didn't, too. Because it would have been an, "act of war".

Unless "we all" are in error about who's bluffing whom.

It isn't an act of war to shoot down an aircraft invading airspace. The U.S.S.R. at the time shot down one of our U2 spy planes and we didn't go to war with them.

Whether we went to war with, or not, it was still an act of war.

Invading a countries airspace would be an act of war. Shooting it down would be an act of defense.

I was wondering why no one else got that. I think the North Korea leadership are douche's but if someone is INVADING something of mine wouldn't the invasion be the act of war? Not the response to the invasion?

North Korea knows that if it ever did anything to provoke the US it would be annihilated. They also know though that the US will not do anything unless physically attacked or militarily/economically threatened. Why won't the US do anything unless under those circumstances? Because those are the only circumstances worse losing lives for. It's not worth the US losing lives of it's soldiers to just show NK whose boss.

So NK is forced to do nothing but flap its gums to try and seem tough and the US just waits for NK to do something stupid like perform an action against someone.

No we wouldn't if you like I can list you a very long list of USSR aircraft both Military and Civilian that crossed into our Airspace during the height of the Cold ar and not one was shot down or escort to the ground.

As for NK they claim a 100mile airspace which is in violation of all know World Airpsace.

Nice try maybe you should stick to bashing Mr. Bush and leave talking about the Military to experts.

A single aircraft flying into the outter edge of your airspace isn't exactly and invasion.

It depends. What type of aircraft, what part of the airspace, and is it deliberate.
