oh a mod wannerbee, did you stamp your foot:lol:If you do not have anything of value to say or add to this topic, kindly do not post on my thread again.
Thank you. :2wave:
oh a mod wannerbee, did you stamp your foot:lol:
How do you feel about slavery legal at the time but morally?
For me one of your comments in another thread sums you up, "I dont know who to vote for I just go into the booth and pick one"
oooh both feet. And you are an idiotic newbie who seems to make it his mission to try and insult and annoy with some hilarious delusion that he is actually funny. Let me make it clear, you are not funny and your contribution to this thread is amusing to say the least.
Go crap on your own thread not mine.
Have anything of value to add, add it otherwise do not post. Simple.
how were slaves obtained, who sold them? You are trying to what? Draw a comparison between art work to slavery? :lamo
This is about the Elgin Marbles not slavery.
Are you going off topic on my thread?
how were slaves obtained, who sold them?
not at all I started you off with the junior schools site( I thought it was simple enough for you to understand) I then thought you could do own research or do you need to be spoon fed :lol:Still have nothing of value to add? I thought not.
Oh btw, you did not answer my post on the history of culture and relationship of wales and england. You are not avoiding it are you?
Between 1801 and 1805 Lord Elgin, the British ambassador to the Ottoman Empire of which Athens had been a part for some 350 years, acting with the full knowledge and permission of the Ottoman authorities, removed about half of the remaining sculptures from the fallen ruins and from the building itself. Lord Elgin was passionate about ancient Greek culture and transported the sculptures back to Britain. The arrival of the sculptures in London had a profound effect on the European public, regenerating interest in ancient Greek culture and influencing contemporary artistic trends. These sculptures were acquired from Lord Elgin by the British Museum in 1816 following a Parliamentary Select Committee enquiry which fully investigated and approved the legality of Lord Elgin’s actions. Since then the sculptures have all been on display to the public in the British Museum, free of entry charge.
It is my contention that the legality of the situation does not make it morally right, they should be returned:lol:Africans did, Arabs did, White people did ...
I repeat:
This is about the Elgin Marbles not slavery
What do i have to do for you to try and comprehend that this thread is not about slavery but Elgin Marbles.
It is my contention that the legality of the situation does not make it morally right, they should be returned:lol:
Read my post I gave you a clue Owain Glyndwr "Glyndwr remained a popular a notable figure in the popular culture of both england and wales":lol:Aw such a shame, i so wanted you to to be the one to tell me seeing i was so sure you knew so much.
So go ahead and answer my post, i can't wait to find out the answer ... :doh
We are going off topic.
How far are you capable of going back, try reading and understanding my times online link:lol:Expand on why morally they have that right then ....
And does that mean every other piece of art and jewels would have to be returned if the opposition claim it on moral grounds? How far are you willing to go? How far back will we go?
How far are you capable of going back, try reading and understanding my times online link:lol:
I have no need to make you look more ridiculous:lol:You can answer and expand on culture on the thread i asked you on
I have no need to make you look more ridiculous:lol:
Why dont you goolgle "the return of native american lands" in 2000 in Utah that single project cost the US Taxpayer $300 millionNative Americans being returned lands is impossible, the world has changed too much for it to be handed back and for the 'immigrants' to leave
Yes if it meets my criteria.Oh so confirmation, UK should return parts of the crown jewels then?
