Senate Backs Apology for Slavery

I understand your point, but my point remains the same, no matter who the money is being funneled to, an NGO/charity, or a person.

This is off topic and has nothing to do with the thread. The thread is about the senate apologizing for slavery.

The only reason I even mentioned it was in reference to political lean. Now can we please get back on topic.

I, for one, think this is a nice gesture.

It is a false gesture that means nothing to the black community.

The sins of my father are the sins of my own. Now, if they only mean it.

Please explain how anything my or anyone else's father did makes them responsible or need to apologies? So I guess I need to apologies to North Korea because my father fought in the Korean War?

None of us had parents or even grand parents that were or owned slaves. In fact the majority 99.99% did not have great, great grand parents who were or owned slaves.

I was not talking about welfare. I was talking about the government helping not for profit non-religious/religious charity's.

I'm all for this. These charities would be a lot better a catching fraud than our government, as long as the government stopped most of its own welfare spending to do this.

It's kind of hard to apologize when you bombed their whole cities down in retaliation, children and all.

I, for one, think this is a nice gesture. The sins of my father are the sins of my own. Now, if they only mean it.

It is a rediculous gesture. It is a posturing gesture by the Democratic party to fosture minority support, because the Black commuinity knows they control Congress. It is a waste of time and effort that could have been devoted to solving real problems. My father's sins are not mine, I commit enough on my own that I must repent for without adding other peoples. No slaves or slave owners are alive now, let them work it out in the afterlife and lets stop trying to work it out now when it ceased to be a problem 100 years ago.

Guys read the whole thing before you jump to conclusions. This is off topic and has nothing to do with my statement.

I was talking about the government helping not for profit non-religious/religious charity's.

the truth you are off topic also but who 's paying attention

the truth you are off topic also but who 's paying attention

Because telling someone they are off topic is sometimes necessary. Sometimes (as in your case) they are just being a smart ass because they are to stupid to see the point of the original.

Now if we can return to the topic as I requested before this stupidity.
