Kansas Teacher Claims Conservative Views Led to Loss of Job

I guess you missed where I said we needed more information from the school.:doh

Yes, but you didn't scorn Scorpion like you did the other.

The article is actually pretty clear.

That is all from the first half of the article. Note the vast number of unsupported claims.

And don't you think if his Claimswere false that School District would come out and say no that isn't the reason he was fired here is the reason. But nothing from the School District now doesn't that strike you a tad odd.

Circumstantial evidence and you know it. You haven't proved a thing. It is a one sidesd argument with NO true evidence.

It is all on the TEACHERS WORD. How has it been PROVEN RIGHT?

So the comments that the student(s) have made aren't revelant either talk about double standers by you folk son the Left Please give it friggin break

There hasn't been much time, usually the school investigates, then comes back with a statement.

They don't just do it all on the same day unless they know, unlike YOU.

I haven't "scorned" anything. I simply stated a fact...you have as little information as he does.

I'm sorry you find that inconvenient to your assault on reason.

I covered this twice, you can easily find out what I said on just this issue. Right now the only people who know for sure why the teacher are fired are not talking, and probably should not be talking to the media. They did though offer a statement:

"All I can say is we have procedures in place to make decisions on employment," Cunningham told FOXNews.com. "All of our procedures were followed correctly."

Note that he clearly states that he is limited in what he can say, but he can say that the procedures where followed.

That procedures were followed only means they filled out the proper paperwork to fire him. Something that is easy to do considering they make up and review the paperwork. Even if he was limited he could have at least said that his partisanship is not the reason why he was fired. Following the proper procedures does not necessarily mean his claims are false.

Much like it couldn't be right either. As noted, there is only ONE SIDE to the story and that is the teacher's.

More than likely it means a little more than that, but technically you are correct. There is a lot we do not know in regards to this story, and probably won't for some time.

Some more information from another site,

First more on the Mr. Obama's Swearing In

With the historic inauguration address in January, Latham decided the best way to understand what President Obama was saying would be to print out the transcript of the speech and analyze it together with his class. “[It is] easier to analyze than watching it live and trying to remember everything.” Latham said. However, Latham has been criticized for not having the speech on live in his class room. “[There were] only 15 minutes left in class when it started, they would have left for lunch in the middle of it and missed most of it. My way was more efficient.”

And then their are these two statements,

Latham received some heat for his political beliefs. Some of the faculty would make remarks about his political ideas, but Latham would stand strong. He had even asked the administration if his job was in danger and was told “we have no plans to non-renew you."

Hope is not lost. It seems that the administration “forgot” to abide by Latham’s contract and perform an in class evaluation dictated by the Master Agreement. By failing to do so, the school board may have no choice but to bring Latham back.

Conservative teacher doesn't fit in - Fired!

So it appears that the District is lying in their comments.

I do not intend to defend those who issued the termination but it not permitted for an employer to discuss personnel issues in public as it can open them up to law suits. If any court action is taken in this case then that will become public information and we will hear the other side.

Scorn is an emotion. That is not our way.

How does posting another article that only shows one point of view prove anything? We still have nothing more than one mans word that his firing was politically motivated.

Let the school speak! Come forth and be heard!

Simple in this report we are shown that reason why he didn't show the Swearing In make's scenes to me on why and in the other parts I cited it does show that the District didn't follow all their rulls as they stated they did in the Fox's News report.

Oh please Scorpion a CONSERVATIVE scorned the school right away.

No I'm not far from it I'm a Proud Indep. but I guess you fall to see that on my public profile if this was a Lib Teacher being fired for the same reason I would be jumping up and down also.

Actually, it does not show that the district did not follow the rules. It shows that a teacher alleges that the district did not follow the rules.

Oh, so then we only have TNE's word to go on. Well that changes things. :doh

What so this part doesn't mean anything this is from the reporter who wrote the second article,

It seems that the administration “forgot” to abide by Latham’s contract and perform an in class evaluation dictated by the Master Agreement. By failing to do so, the school board may have no choice but to bring Latham back.

Of course it makes sense, since the only thing reported was HIS VIEW.

Scorpion you are an independent like Aps is a conservative.

The facts don't change, you jumped on this ONE SIDED argument on the teacher's side without knowing the school's side.

You are a conservative.
