“I am fortunate enough to be here with my 10-year-old daughter, who is missing her last day of school for this. I hope she doesn’t get in trouble,” Corpus told the president.
“Oh, no,” replied Obama, all ears.
“Yes,” came the reply.
“Do you need me to write a note?” asked the president.
“I’ll take you up on that, actually, Mr. President.”
“All right. Go ahead. I’ll start writing it now,” replied Obama. “What’s her name?”
“John Corpus,” replied the startled father. “No, her,” Obama corrected him.
Corpus then tried to pose his question at the town hall meeting in Green Bay, when Obama interrupted him, saying “No, no, I’m serious. What’s your daughter’s name?”
“Her name is Kennedy,” the bemused Corpus said. “Kennedy. All right. That’s a cool name,” replied Obama.

Obama went on to sign an excuse for the man's daughter.

So the note says that she played hooky to see President Obama? Do you really think the school is going to believe that note is genuine? LOL.

Sure they'll believe it because it's on the news. I doubt the note used the word "hooky". Come on.

Who cares? Shouldn't the parent be able to write the note, anyways? I think the dad was just being a smartass.

I bet he'll try selling it on Ebay.

It probably used the word "hooker" knowing that evil bastard.

I can't believe that everyone thinks this is cute and funny.......

Didn't Obama put an emphasis on education during his presidential campaign???

Sure it's the last day of school and missing 1 day isn't going to matter much, but think about the message it is sending regarding missing school.

Everything Obama has said during his presidential campaign he has done the complete opposite.
For instance: He said he was going to bring our troops home as soon as possible, instead he's borrowing another $79.9 billion for military funding to support the war, plus he is scheduled to sign the orders to send more troops to Afghanistan.

Maybe it's just me but I am beginning to have a real problem with the great Obama.

It was actually the father's decision to take the girl out of school, so take it up with him. And I think that it is definitely worth skipping school to see the US president talk, regardless of whether or not you agree with him.

My niece's last day of school lasted an hour.

It's funny how during the election, Obama's detractors opposed everything he campaigned on. So when he does the opposite (what they wanted), they aren't happy, but are still outraged. No, he couldn't have made a wiser, more informed decision, he must have been lying the whole time.

The Father, you know the parent of the child, is the one that decided to take HIS child out for the LAST day of school. Take it up with the father.

What's funny is listening to people complaining about this.

I still see antoher thread gaining most of the attention, but yet this one with the fact the FATHER chose the action gets none. I wonder why?

Here Here I don't care who the President is I would take my child to see him/her.

I actually thought it was very cool of Mr. Obama for wrtting the note and giving it to this Gilr what a great memory she will have and just maybe this one act willlead the girl to learn more about our Country's history and Politcal systems.

Or you can just sit back and whin about nothing.

Well let see Cand. Obamapromise allot of things that their was no way in hell he or anyone else would be able to do. Bring the troops home was a astupid comment by him and he should have know better hell we still have troops in Germany and Italy. As for the 78.9 budget I suggest you go and see that most of this come's from Mr. Bush request and he just ask for it to be passed nothing new here thanks for trying.

As for the troops going to The Afgan well once again another order that Mr. Bush and the Joint Chief had given in the fall of 2008 you must have missed that one also.

Keep trying you might find something to bitch and cry about. Or better yet if you think you can do a better job then in 2012 step right up and take your chance's.

Hell. I had professors in graduate school who would let us skip part of a class to go attend visiting experts discussions on various economic issues of the class wasn't that important.

President seems like several steps up from mere discussions on credit impact on the pacific rim business cycle.

I never understood why the rule is, 'Disagree with Obama = Bush Supporter' It doesn't matter what Bush has done in the past anymore. He isn't the President. America elected a President that they hoped would not do the same things Bush has done. How much further does America have to go down in order for her to push to the top again?

I dare say, judging by the extent of your rant and your painful attempts to blame President Obama for a father taking his child out of school to see the man speak, that your issues with our President begin and end with you.

If someone is dumb enough to buy it, then all the more power to the Smart Ass Dad.

You have President Obama confused with President Clinton. LOL.

Or Forum Member Jerry,

LOL

I thought Obama signing an accord with the Prime Minister of Munchkins to be an impolite gesture. It's like he wants the kids to slip through life, and replace us.

Even though I don't like Obama, I'd consider meeting a Prez in person to be an adequate excuse for missing one day of school. Especially the last day, heck they don't do much the last couple days anyway.

Yup, it was duly recorded on TV. It was also the last day of school and in grammar scholl that's a day in which not a lot is done. Therefoe I would say that he kid probabl leaned more about civics and the interaction with government than she would have learned in class.

Can we get over this bull**** already? For crying out loud, it's just an excuse note.
