GREEN BAY, Wis. - Surrounded by supportive citizens in the heartland, President Barack Obama challenged lawmakers back in Washington who criticize his proposed health care overhaul. "What's the alternative?" he said Thursday.

What is the alternative?

Removing him from power and saving trillions.

What is the alternative?

Since too much government broke health care, why are people expectantly awaiting even more government to fix it?

The alternative is less government, of course.

Not to mention the fact that The Messiah is a sudden convert to the Pay-As-You-Go notion of government, and he's planning on nationalizing 14% of a 15T dollar economy in one swoop, which means The Messiah will have to raise 2.1T dollars in taxes the year he does it.

Thank you for your well thought out and insightful response. This will do what exactly to reform healthcare?

It will save it from becoming unreformable.

I told you.
Remove the idiot who wants to socialize it so that he can't spend trillions more.

Sooner the better.

:funny

Like private health care will just cease to exist....

So is it your contention that health care was working great prior to Jan
20th?

Again, I ask. What is the alternative? We can sit here and bash Obama on one hand and have people defend him on the other. The question isn't whether or not you agree with Obama. The question is "what is the alternative"? What would you recomend as a viable alternative to the health care situation in this country? Gov't hasn't been socializing health care for decades. yet in the free market, we now have a system that doesn't work.

Do you have a better plan, or do you just bash Obama in every post?

Government may help in making it affordable at the clinic or hospital but the cost is way to high at the government level, IMHO.

Health care will be fixed by allowing it to be privatized and helping remove the outrageous inflation imposed by huge insurance companies with the goal to strong arm anyone not wanting to invest in insurance.

What gets me is that Obama said those that prefer their current health care plan could keep it. That's a bold-faced lie and he knows it. If public health care comes about, the health insurance companies as we know them will dry up. We won't have a choice.

And he knows it, the liar.

What exactly is bad about insurance companies drying up? Insurance companies are the reason medical expenses are so outrageous and have killed the medical free market.

Works better then Socialized medicine under the liar Obama.

Alternative?..get rid of Obama and get a REAL President.
Until then Leave it Alone. Its not broke.

But without them, there'll be no other option than government-sponsored healthcare.

Which is exactly Obama's plan. He's Vladamir Putin to the 'T'.

No without them medical expenses back to the level's dictated by a free market. Doctor's would need to be competitive with their pricing instead of secretive.

Currently doctors charge outrageous amounts for procedures because the insurance companies want prices to be so high that the consumer is FORCED to depend on insurance coverage.

And of course, the government is not notorious at all for wasting money, so this will be incredibly efficient for us.

I can't wait to see my taxes go up 10 percent to pay for this, which will be far more than I pay for medical insurance.

Get rid of tax breaks for employer-funded health care. It's ridiculous, people aren't going to choose a job based solely on health care benefits, so they're basically stuck with the health insurance which their job of choice happens to provide.

How would the consumer market remove insurance companies from the mix without help from the government? Should 300 million people just deny seeking health care in the hopes that the medical industry will side with consumers?

Though I don't agree taxes should be raised at all for any of this government spending. I highly doubt individual taxes would be increased by 10%. We may see 1-3%.

How do you see health care in the US as "not working"?

Sky rocketing health care costs, and mass reductions in coverage. Millions of working Americans uninsured. Too many end up in the Gov't system anyway. Only difference is we're then paying for their health care.

So your solution is to move everyone to the "government system", which even in your standard is less desirable than private insurance?

What do you accomplish but making everyone equally miserable?

What would benefit President Obama's healthcare reform agenda, is if he could prove his ideas would work, by fixing Medicare/Medicaid issues first.

I haven't offered any solution. I am asking what is a better alternative? But do you at least now agree that the current system is broken?

Its expensive that is not broke.
43-63 million right..out of 350 million. Again cost is the issue not insurance itself.
..and want out of it. Why would those who haven't ended up in that situation not chosen to end up in it???..der..:2wave:
So lets pay for everyones?

Obama's socialized government board and czars BS is stupid.
Medicare is a problem because its running out of money
(btw that's the government healthcare....:doh) ..fix that..don't f up the whole system in an anti-capitalist/anti-choice/IMO unAmerican intrusion by the Federal Government into something they should not be involved in past emergency functions.

Pills/etc..start trying to lower costs..how I dunno...but without taking over companies using "stimulus money to apply czars over them.

Whats the alternative?
Whatever is within the bounds of the Constitution that does not have the federal Government running Healthcare in this nation. Especially in this manner.
Whatever that may be it won't be Obamanism. He'll probably end up trying to claim credit for a massively different and probably as usual irrelevant action after alot of political fighting..ObamaCare though is already getting guffawed. America shut down Hillary in a similar manner.

Oh, sure! Private health care will always be available for goonion leaders, the Kennedy's, and the Messiah, but not for the people being taxed up the wazoo to pay for it's nationalization.

I mean, the first thing that national health care will do is mandate colonoscopies for everyone, just to make sure all the people are aware of what's really happening to them under The Messiah, and to make sure there's no cash hidden up there.
