Shooting reported at or near U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

Since the shooter's an old man, I'm willing to wager he wanted to go out this way. It's unfortunate for him that he'll now have to spend the end days of his miserable existence in jail. :rofl

1) the gun wasn't legal / registered in DC.

2) The museum is a gun free zone.

3) he was abruptly stopped by armed security.. who happened to be pretty close to the incident... What would have happened if he'd killed them first? It'd be a blood bath... much like the slaughters in other gun free zones that we've seen lately.

Newsmax has a link to a story, but not a word about the alleged shooter's "politics."

Pajamas Media? Not a peep.

Hot Air, a simple link to an AP story with no mention of the dude's standing as a "white supremacist" and "Obama hater."

Drudge has it as a banner headline, but under a photo of Obama and his insulting shoes.

Fox News has the story on the upper left of their front page, with full mention of the political aspects of the story.

Will this mean that the right wing talking heads will finally see the need to stem their screeds of hatred against Obama and his supporters? Talk about "stopping" Obama, talk about "taking our country back" from this "marxist socialist communist usurper"?

So what? What does the gun control issue have to do with this in particular? If you want to discuss that issue, why not start a thread about it instead of trying to derail this one? This is about a shooting at the Holocaust Memorial Museum by an 88 year old skinhead. I think there are far more glaring issues to talk about here than the gun issue, wouldn't you say?

This guy's picture reminds me somewhat of Stacy Keach's role of Cameron in American History X (skinhead leader).

Maybe it's because I am more attuned to such stories, but these sorts of tragedies do seem to happen more often now than they used to.

Then again, it could just be that my perception's changed. Odd, that.

The racist hate groups have been foaming at the mouth a lot more lately. To be honest, a lot of it is most likely due to the fact that we currently have an African American President.

Could it be that he does not like the way conservatives have treated this country?
Could it be that he doesn't like the fact that arrogant single minded conservatives admit to no failures what so ever, yet they are openly praying for Obama's and America's failure at every turn?

If you look at it like that...I to think that coservatives SUCK...and I do hate what they stand for.

Both sides are guilty of partisan hackery. However, when you try to turn every issue into a partisan issue you start to look like the nutjobs on the other side of the aisle. It would stand to reason that a person who claims to be so adamantly against people like that would want to distance themselves from that ideology as much as possible.

Oh, and I'm sure that The Jovial One can defend himself without your help.

I am only trying to expand what seems to be a narrowminded view of why Jovi might bring politices into this discussion and also expand what seems to be a narrowminded view on why people might be so upset and not quite so trusting of the Republican party.
