Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok
Source: AP 1 hour, 5 minutes ago

BANGKOK - Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok. A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide.

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He said the embassy was informed by Thai authorities that Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.

He was the first star I ever saw in person when I moved to L.A. many moons ago.

Terrible terrible tragedy. I can't imagine what would drive him to hang himself.

Whatever the reason, may he rest in peace now.

His parts.

Seriously, though, sorry about his death.

Here's to a long and celebrated career. :drink

I just called a very very good friend of mine who worked with Mr. Carradine a lot, floored him to hear this. He had his phone off and was about to listen to his voice mail because Mr. Carradine's niece had called him.

Very sad RIP.

I remember watching Kung Fu every week. Got me interested in martial arts.

He was also host of Wild West Tech on the History Channel.

His commentary and attitude really added to the show.

Hell, I hadn't even considered that. You take that into account, and he's done a lot more than entertain people.

Loved him in Kill Bill.

It is always sad when anyone passes. RIP

R.I.P. grasshopper.

RIP David Carradine.

I've been a huge fan for years. I always thought he had the coolest voice.

A car, it is to be assumed. But to the hardware store first.

He probably just didn't want to be tied up with another movie.

My friend's father who works in the film industry was a good friend of David Carradine. I was fortunate to meet him one summer when I went over to her house. On the back porch they were drinking beer and enjoying the sun. He introduced himself to me as "Dave" and I pretending that it was the first time I had ever seen him. (In reality, I was going "omg omg omg!" inside).

My friend's dad later told me that he had a hardcore drinking problem, and he also did coke from time to time. Wouldn't surprise me really... he struck me as the type.

I guess he felt his career was over.

RIP David. Didn't he have a good gig with yellow book?

I didn’t realize that Carradine was prone to hanging around in Bangkok.

I should be serious, RIP !!

I watched Kung Fu as a kid, got me intrested in martial arts originally. He was in great form as the villian in Kill Bill also.

I hate that he's dead, but you know what they say...

Tragedy. He had quite a few years left in him.

Well...no need to kill Bill......

What can I say? Another great actor has left us. I watched Kung Fu all throughout my childhood, as well as his later roles in some pretty good movies. Ah grasshopper...what have you done? :( R.I.P.

For some reason, a song popped into my head, which had nothing to do with David Carradine..."Kung Fu Fighting". This song has become an earmite and will be with me all night now.

Was cleaning the kitchen yesterday and whooped the TV out and put it on the kitchen table and watched Kill Bill 2. Now I am understanding the sadness my elders would tell me I would feel towards stars as I grew up and was actually attached to them.

so, the bill is killed at last. :( I liked him a lot. condolences to his family.
