Army Recruiter Killed In Little Rock Shooting

You think Attorney General Holder will send federal marshals to protect recruiting offices all over the country? Or are they all busy protecting abortionists?

Yeah and a month ago I won't remember who George Tiller was either. You're complaining about some stories being bigger then others and the media covering them accordingly. A recruiter being killed in nowheresville Arkansas is pretty much a non-story for most people because A) he's a complete unknown and B) because there is only so much information you can milk out of such a story.

What does Arkansas have to do with anything?

The media is biased towards selling papers or drawing ratings. Controversy does that. It's not the medias fault. If we showed more interest in stories like you linked, they would get more coverage,
This is a fairly absurd statement, considering the implosions of so many main stream media organs which insist on foisting unpalatable leftist propaganda on an unwilling public.

I refer you to the ratings ratios of CNN to fox, MSNBC to Fox, and to the impending disintegration of the New York Times.

Only newspapers, and that is largely that they are responding slowly to the changing marketplace I believe.
How exactly are they responding at all, other than to become more biased and more strident?

And how hard is it to adjust the editorial policy of a newspaper to reflect a long term market trend?

Why is it an issue that it happened in Arkansas. Where you doing your cry about "Rednecks" schtick?

Wow. Too much silly testosterone today as always. Thanks for playing! Mentioning that it happened in nowheresville Arkansas is off limits apparently.

As I thought, vapid and empty. No sir, thank YOU for playing. :2wave:

Rofl. Using vapid and then a synonym of vapid. Anywho - I guess it didn't happen in nowheresville Arkansas?

Hatuey, I want you to post more often. Very few people have such a talent for highlighting the true nature of the mindset of the Modern Left the way you do.

You make the job of those of us wishing to show it for the trite and juvenile body of thought that it is so much less demanding!

I personally invite you to comment on anything I post in this forum, if for nothing else than the comic relief it can provide as a counterpoint to more serious discussions.

Carry on.

meh, don't know why it isn't all over tv but it didn't seem to capture our attention even here for more than two pages. Everybody quit the attacks and back on topic.

This is sad. Too bad it had to happen, and I hope that the shooter is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Also sad is using this sad event to push a anti-abortion rights agenda.

His commentary regarded bias in the media.

Social issues make headlines, a literal act of terrorism is lucky to hit the back burner.

One of our own gone bad, real scary

When one of our own goes bad that is real scary! I understand that this terrorist killer was a "convert" to Muslinism , that religion that is supposed to be peace loving. Oh I get it they do love piece. A piece that fires lead.

Youv'e got it all wrong. Its sad because some girl goes missing in Aruba, or a story like Dr Tillers will remain in the news for months or years and a story like this will not even make the mainstream media. The media is biasd, admit it. Fox will report this story but it will be a blip on the rest of the liberal media outlets.

The story is the death of some unknown person. That is why it won't be reported on in detail by every news agency. There are many murders every day. The news realistically won't fully cover everyone one.

The doctor being killed is covered because the doctor was a controversial figure and tied to a controversial subject. If the Army Recruiter was having an affair with married Political official or something like that then his death would have been more widely reported on. It has nothing to do with "pro-choice media" and everything to do with elaborate drama based stories.

Sadly, we are at a point in society where "someone was killed" isn't breaking news, it's an every day occurrence. We sit in our homes and say "that's sad" and then continue eating our dinner.

But you don't get it. Targeted assassination versus one loan nut.

Typology of a terrorist:

The FBI's classification of terrorism into international and domestic is based on geography and not on the goal of the behavior. According to the FBI typology, international terrorism has three subcategories based on the structural organization of the various groups: loosely affiliated extremists, formal terrorist organizations, and state sponsors of terrorism. The first category of international terrorism, loosely affiliated extremists, includes Sunni Islamic extremists, such as Osama bin Laden and those affiliated with his Al-Qaeda organization--individuals from varying nationalities, ethnic groups, tribes, races, and terrorist groups who support extremist Sunni goals. The common element among these diverse individuals is that they are committed to the radical international jihad movement, whose ideology includes promoting violence against the "enemies of Islam" in order to overthrow all governments not ruled by conservative Islamic law. Foreshadowing the American tragedy, in the congressional statement dated May 10, 2001, loosely affiliated extremists were considered the most urgent threat to the US because their goals consisted of carrying out large scale, high profile, high casualty terrorist attacks against US interests and citizens.

The second category of international terrorism, formal terrorist organizations, includes extremist groups such as the Palestinian Hamas, the Irish Republican Army, the Egyptian Al-Gama Al-Islamiyya, and the Lebanese Hizballah. They are characterized as autonomous, generally transnational organizations that have their own infrastructures, personnel, financial arrangements, and training facilities. They have a presence in the US, with members engaged in fund-raising, recruiting, and intelligence gathering. Additionally, they maintain operations and support networks in the US. Prior to September 11, the Hizballah were responsible for the deaths of more Americans than any other terrorist group.

The third category of international terrorism is state sponsors of terrorism, consisting of countries that view terrorism as a tool of foreign policy. At the time of the May 10 congressional statement, the Department of State listed seven countries as state sponsors of terrorism: Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea. Iran represented the greatest threat to the US because it supports financially and logistically anti-Western acts of terrorism by others.

I am glad Sarge brought this up as I was also bothered by the way the LA Times reported BOTH of these events in their pages and I believe he is 100% CORRECT in the OBVIOUS bias with the medias treatment of this issue versus Tillman story. Here are the articles in the Los Angeles Times:

Muslim convert pleads not guilty in killing of soldier
Danny Johnston / Associated Press
HELD WITHOUT BAIL: Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, is charged with murder and 15 counts of engaging in a terrorist act. One soldier was killed and another wounded.

Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, is charged with murder and 15 counts of engaging in a terrorist act in connection with a shooting at a military recruiting office in Little Rock, Ark.

Muhammad, who was known previously as Carlos Bledsoe, acted alone and was not part of a larger plot, said Cassandra Davis, a spokeswoman for the Little Rock Police Department. She said Muhammad previously lived in Memphis, Tenn., and Nashville and had recently moved to Little Rock.

Suspect in Kansas abortion doctor's slaying reportedly belonged to anti-government militia

The 51-year-old man held on suspicion of killing prominent abortion provider Dr. George Tiller belonged to anti-government militia groups, had been convicted of carrying explosives in his car and was outraged by the doctor's speedy acquittal on abortion-related charges, authorities and antiabortion activists said Monday.

The pertinent FACTS are that a mere single small column is devoted to the story regarding a Muslim “convert” murdering military personnel outside of recruiting offices and quickly assumes that he is NOT associated with ANY groups.

But with an abortion clinic murderer, there are several MULTI-page articles every day with the most recent making a POINT to state that this man was connected to "evil" militias and to perhaps suggest that this is the NORM for these militia types.

The agenda is clear to anyone who has an OPEN mind and wants the FACTS; Muslims are off limits and Christian anti-abortion crowds are evil and to be impugned as being part of groups that should be outlawed.

The bias contained in these similar stories is OBVIOUS; it is WORSE to murder a late term abortion doctor than it is to murder military recruits.

Targeted assassinations occur everyday. This was actually one of many this week.

Have a nice day:

Oh fyi that's the argument for the death penalty NO HOSTAGES!!!

In America we do not have jihadist shootings/murders everyday. In fact since 9-11 we havn't had hardly any. This story should be promenent but it is not because the media is biased. Tiller the killer's story is still in the media and will continue to be.

A nice day to you

The fact is a soldier was killed in Little Rock by a terrorist who received training in Yeman. Its not just a run of the mill everyday murder.

Are you suggesting that, since this murderer is Muslim, we should assume this man successfully committed a terrorist attack on American soil and it is not just a murderer? The article quickly points out that this man was merely a Muslim and not connected to any group, to remove the thought that this was a terrorist attack.

But with an abortion clinic murderer, there are several MULTI-page articles every day with the most recent making a POINT to state that this man was connected to "evil" militias and to perhaps suggest that this is the NORM for these militia types.
Scott Roeder, Tiller's murderer, was a former member of Montana Freemen (an antii-government group) and alleged current member of the anti-government group Sovereign Citizen Movement, he was also convicted have having bomb making materials in his car in the 90's and is diagnosed schizophrenic.

But since he's not a Muslim labeling him a terrorist is just wrong.

Yes your agenda and biases are clear in every post you make.
