In answering a question from a student about how Pelosi was going to get Americans to cut back on their carbon emissions, the leading Democratic lawmaker said it was important to educate children on how to conserve energy and for citizens to build more environmentally friendly homes.
"We have so much room for improvement," she said. "Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory ... of how we are taking responsibility."

Personal Liberty? Freedom? Oh wait, those are OLD ideas that lead to teh "wrong" choices, people like Nancy P, she's got the answers, and we should obey the Government to provide:

My personal liberty and freedom includes the right to breathe clean air. If Pelosi is making inroads with China to improve the environment, what is your freaking problem with that?
 
It makes sense logically to get China on board otherwise it would make little difference.
 
China will only do what benefits China, nothing more.

I have a big problem with Pelosi saying that every aspect of our lives should be subject to inventory. I think anyone who values freedom would have a big problem with the government saying that, esp. someone as power-hungry as Pelosi.

There are ways to keep pollution down without the gov't going to such extremes ("every aspect" - yikes).

OMG you are hopeless. Pelosis is saying that the effort to improve the climate must include analysis of every aspect of our lives. She is not talking about taking away your guns. Relax.

Unlike the U.S., China lacks the ability to make sweeping environmental changes because it is still a developing nation. Even so, due to its huge population, I believe in some areas it is doing more than the U.S., out of simple survival necessity.

The U.S. public does not feel the pressure of climate change yet because luxuries insulate them from that reality. Eventually it will catch up with them, and changes will have to be made.

Let the anal probe begin.

First thing is to get everyone to stop smoking; that's a good start don't you think? Get all the little drones to give up their freedom in the name of the environment and clean air. Not just at work, but everywhere. The billions of smokes that go aflame every day cause significant pollution, so how about a move to stop smokes? That includes you dopers too.

After that we can eliminate BBQ's. Awful that smoke, and for what? To enjoy charred meat? Sorry, too much pollution for such a small endeavor.

Auto racing? Bad example. Inefficient use of fuel, and all the pollution to get equipment, people, fans to the race track. Sorry, not a righteous enough cause for polluting the air.

Jets; These things burn a few liters of Kerosene per minute, and then at 10,000 meters. Sorry, only in emergency situations can one fly, or if you are a member of the party elite.

Yeah, let's let government take inventory of every aspect of our lives... and let them do it in an endeavor grounded in junk science.

Speaker Pelosi has more "brains" in her little finger than all of you fringe ditto-heads put together.
 
Speaker of the House is going to get her wish from the Chinese and if Global warming is man made and real scientists say it's just a regular cycle and 86% of current temperature rise is do to the sun. But let's say it is man made the Chinese Gov. is helping with global warming by helping the Chinese people buy cars in numbers that far and away outstrip the numbers sold in this country. In fact they want most of their people to buy them now and they have very poor smog devices. Remember the smog before the Olympics?
So Pelousy was over there blowing smoke or at least breathing it.

So, did she get to China by sailboat or glider? I forget what is her preferred method of not burning tons of jet fuel to attend these drivel sessions.
