Conservative radio host gets waterboarded, and lasts six seconds before.....

In case anyone hadn't noticed, the 'torture' story died over a week ago.

It doesn't matter how many seconds Mancow lasted. It doesn't matter whether Sean Hannity will try it or not...

The story is dead. It died when Nancy Pelosi got caught in the middle of it and Cheney went on offense and started scoring major points.

There will be no torture investigations.

It's over, folks.

Move on.

:2wave:

If only it was that easy to erase Bush/Cheney warcrimes and atrocities.

Pelosi made them do it...right..it's over.:aliens3::spank:

What a novel interpretation of events.

So people that you deem terrorists have no right to live. Maybe I missed it, but when did you become the arbiter of who deserves to live and who deserves to die? :2wave:
Historically speaking, that job is generally held by the one with either the biggest guns or the most ammunition.

Wha?

This was a decent discussion, until I stumbled upon your "jokes"...they are much like walking out your front door into your yard, only to step directly into a pile of crap from your neighbor's dog.

Dude....seriously offensive. I see what you are trying to illustrate and I'm all for humor....but dang, aren't these going just a tad too far? Wouldn't one joke have made your point sufficiently?

Hay, before you say one ****ing word about it to me why don't you shut down the people who are likening ME to Nazis?

At least I'm addressing their slander with humor, would you rather I resort to dyrect flame?

Stop violating Godwin's Law and we won't have a problem :2wave:

So how do you seperate the atrocoties from what you claim are "good solid useful torture methods?"

I wait to see if there are any radio hosts willing to take an acid bath or lay down in an active incinerator. See the difference?

I guess I missed it too, where did I say I was such a person?

No not really.......

I guess a better question would be; would you consider it torture if they did it to our soldiers?

Heck yes i support them doing this to us (and I say us as I am one of those serving) I think this is something I would much rather have happen to me, then having my head chopped off on t.v.

Moderator's Warning:
We're going to not go down this path and I would prefer no more comments AT ALL Be made about Jerry's joke. No hate speech is allowed outside of the basement, joking or not. End of story. And no more discussion of the joke in thread. It all ends here. Now. Thank you.

No not really.......

Was the radio host harmed? No. It freaked him the **** out, thinking you're about to die usually does, but he got up and walked away.

How many people walked away from the gas chambers?
How many people walked away from the acid showers?
How many people walked away from the ovens?

We waterboard out own ****ing soldiers in survival training for Peet's sake.

Do you recall when they were first building Git'mo, when they had to use temporary chain-link fencing because the perminint structures weren't up yet?

The detainees had to sleep on thin foam mats, no matrices, not even cots.

You leftists cried "torture, torture", such treatment was inhumane and barberic....until someone pointed out that those mats came from a Navy surplus, and were the exact same mats issued to every active solder at the time and was the exact same thing the solders stationed at Git'mo were sleeping on.

The left shut the **** up immediately.

So, the left doesn't have any, ANY credibility when it comes to judging rather something is actually torture or not.

We waterboard ourselves in training, did the Nazis give themselves acid baths?

We hit ourselves in training, did the Nazis lock themselves in Candide filled gas chambers?

We deprive ourselves of sleep for days at a time, did the Nazis put themselves in incinerators?

That is what I call "torture", but if you want to come along and change the definition of the word, then since my definition doesn't change with yours, I now support torture even though I haven't changed my opinion at all; you changed yours.

**** it, can't talk about anything anymore.

I'm outa here :2wave:

No one called the Gitmo cots torture. You are reduced to justifying torture by saying it is better than genocide. Your pathetic justification of illegal interrogation techniques has clearly run out of gas. Mancow had his "come to Jesus" moment and realized the truth about waterboarding, it is a shame you cannot have a similar change of mind.

The "story" may be dead, the debate is however is not. Torture is wrong and we shouldn't have been doing it. Pelosi is just another part of the debate now and she should be subjected to same scorn that Dick Cheney and the rest have been.

Pelosi needs to go and she needs to go now.

The two are mutually exclusive. It's not either/or. One is torture and one is murder. They are not the same so the comparison is inappropriate.

We torture people to extract information, they cut peoples heads off as a form of execution. You should cite some bona fide examples of them torturing our troops.

There never has been a real 'debate' here. There's been lots of screaming and yelling by those who've forever longed for a way to put W. and Cheney behind bars... There's been a lot of bloviating in the press... There's been lots of hype about photos of prisoner abuse (which is conveniently lumped together with officially sanctioned interrogation techniques as if one an the same), which is about as intellectually honest as suggesting that My Lai was part of an officially sanctioned U.S. policy in Viet Nam...

But there's never been a real debate. Because even Obama knows that the U.S. has not 'tortured' anybody. If he believed in his heart that Bush and Cheney had tortured... it would be a very simple matter to press the charges. Very simple.

And you are quite wrong in your assessment of the situation. Thanks for playing.

Please pull your head out of your ass. The air out here is FINE.

I voted for Bush...TWICE. I NEVER had a desire to prosecute him until these memos started surfacing in the past 6 months. Frankly, the bush-hitler idots and the "no war for oil" scum sucking fools piss me all the hell off.

This is bigger than partisan politics, and your failure to grasp this is truly shocking and appalling.

That you can excuse this kind of bull**** makes me physically ill.

This isn't f'ing political, dude. I want the heads of ALL INVOLVED, no matter what party, to roll for trampling the ethics of our country into the f'ing dust.

People are rightfully angry over what has been done to our bill of rights and our country's image in the past 8 years.

And many of those who are angriest, LIKE ME, voted for Bush.

We are AMERICANS. WE DON'T DO THIS. It is simply NOT WHO WE ARE, and it dishonors every drop of blood that every patriot has ever shed for this proud nation.

This torture b.s. has done MORE HARM to our armed forces and heroes in the middle east, not to mention the cause over there, than ANYTHING the terrorists have done in the past 10 years.

What was that Grateful Heart said about "screaming"?

Yep. No debate going on here. But thanks for sharing! :2wave:

Way to completely miss the f'ing point. :spin:

This is so bad, so completely horrifying--that if you AREN'T angry, there is something wrong with you.

If anything, the REPUBLICANS should be the angriest. I voted for a democrat for president for the first time, IN MY LIFE, in 2008.

I abhor what Bush has done to my party.

And yeah, I'm angry.

Actually, voted for McCain in 2008, but still disgusted with what Bush did to the party. Voted for Badnarik in 2004.

I hear ya. <edited>

FWIW, I think you make a reasonable argument in regards to waterboarding...several of the posts you made swayed my opinion a bit, particularly about how an interrogator may not know whether a method will work before it's used. And if there's one thing we know certain, it's that there are those who would stop at nothing to commit violence on the citizens of our country.

If you gotta choose between using an unsavory or even illegal torture method and the lives of tens, hundreds or even thousands of innocents..well, it must be hell to the one who has to make that decision, but I can't claim I'd have chosen differently.

Wanted to vote for McCain, but his off the cuff selection of Palin scared the bejeezus out of me. I like her, but in no way was she qualified to be VP. Maybe in 8 to 12 years...

Unfortunately, Palin will never be ready. My plan was to vote for Bob Barr, but then Pelosi pissed me off so much with her grandstanding that I decided to vote for McCain instead. Since Barr had no chance, and since McCain was going to win Texas easily, I made my vote a political statement rather than a choice.

I think she is a brighter and more articulate person than she appeared. But, I had to laugh when even my hardcore conservative parents told me at Christmas, "We just don't think she's that smart."

I'm a huge McCain fan, I must confess.
