CIA Says Pelosi Was Briefed on Use of 'Enhanced Interrogations'

I said Bush lied. All you have to do is Google "Bush lies" and you'll need a wheel barrel to carry all the sites that come up.

Peruse these for your own entertainment. However, be warned. You may need a hanky to wipe away your tears. The realization of the behavior of a United States of America President is down right sad. Sad indeed.

And one of the best sources of Bush's lies is: Lie by Lie: The Mother Jones Iraq War Timeline (8/1/90 - 2/14/08) | Mother Jones

This has a great timeline with all of Bush's lies documented.

It is a fact, George W. Bush lied to the American people... over and over and over...

can you not derail a thread with your non stop hardon for bush. thanks.

CIA Says Pelosi Was Briefed on Use of 'Enhanced Interrogations' - Capitol Briefing

Nailed.

She should be forced to resign for conduct unbecoming US Congresswoman.

Edit--woops didn't see the other post on this.

Thats just another example of hypocrisy by politicians. She saw nothing wrong with it but when loony *****fist(*****+pacifist, yeah I know its saying the same thing twice) anti-war morons started bitching like little girls over it she decided to change bandwagons. Its like the individuals who mock Obama for not being a patriotic over the who flag issues and then turn around and support politicians who try to sell this country out to illegals, outsourcing and globalism. Its like McCain calling Obama a socialist and then voting for the bail out package. Its pretty bad when a loony leftist on comedy central points out the hypocrisy.

I love the BS name changes from the left... Enhance Interogations, in exchange for Torture. Illegal Aliens .... Didn`t Piglosi make us all refer to them as "Imigrants of enhanced need", or some such chit? By any other name..., its all the same.

It`s no safer in the middle, but I don`t claim to be either, or.

In other news, due to the support for waterboarding by their favorite girl, San Francisco youths have devised a new sport in the bay area combining scuba and surfing.

:2wave:

Its another example of its okay for our side to do it but if you do it we will nail your ass to the wall for it. It goes to show these people do not have a spin to stand behind their convictions. I have no problems with terrorist being water boarded,a simulated anything is not torture. Heck they can even use real torture for terrorist for all I care.

Illegal Aliens .... Didn`t Piglosi make us all refer to them as "Imigrants of enhanced need", or some such chit? By any other name..., its all the same.

Some people believe changing the name of something makes it different.Regarding illegal immigration it makes it easier for them to defend and weasel in benefits for "undocumented immigrants" or "undocumented Americans" than it does for illegals or illegal aliens. Smart people on both sides know what they hell they are talking about when pro-illegals scum talk about "undocumented immigrants" or "undocumented Americans". Ignorant dumb asses however do not not know and fall for the pro-illegals lies.

Another example of this name change/semantics game is gay marriage. The closet gay marriage supporters use terms like "domestic partnerships" and "civil unions" and any other paper coated term for marriage.

I have no desire to see any politicians prosecuted for supporting waterboarding. I completely support waterboarding when done for the right reasons (as I believe it was done). However, I would like to see public rebuke of partisan hacks like Pelosi who have lied their asses off while trying to put others in jail who have no more responsibility for such actions than she does. She is a lying, hypocritical jackass, who, if she was a Republican, would have her mug posted on every major TV network with a caption letting us know what an evil bitch she is. However, she is a Democrat, therefore, she barely makes the news!

So you support torture despite the moral pitfalls and despite the majority of operatives and people who study that data who claim it doesn't work?

At the very least Pelosi should be removed as Speaker of the House.
If only she were a Republican... then her defenders would agree with you.

The Torture Ban that Doesn't Ban Torture: Obama's Rules Keep It Intact, and Could Even Accord With an Increase in US-Sponsored Torture Worldwide.

"Many Americans, to their credit, hate torture. The Bush/Cheney escapade exposed that.

But to stop it they must get the facts and see that Obama's ban does not stop it, and indeed could even accord with an increase in US-sponsored torture crime."

Obama Didn’t Ban Torture

"Obama and members of the press pretend that a step in the right direction is sufficient to fully address years of systematic human rights violations, or at least preferable to an actual public inquiry or criminal prosecution. The illusory ban is set up to take the place of actual enforcement and accountability, as though agreeing to follow the laws means the president has actually worked to changed them. This decision is couched in vague aphorisms of moving forward and stresses the importance avoiding division. But there is very little actual progress here, and it is difficult to imagine how this decision unifies the country when the majority of American support some form of investigation. Furthermore, enforcing our laws is not discretionary but a duty of the office. The President has the opportunity to protect these CIA agents and contractors through presidential pardon if he feels it just or necessary for the national well-being. Obstruction of justice is not a legitimate means towards that end."

Did President Obama Ban Torture?

""The institutions of the Imperial Executive remain intact," writes William N. Grigg — The Torture State Endures. Tha author notes that "all Obama's executive order has done is to suspend the CIA's use of patently illegal torture techniques and to move 'expeditiously' to close down illegal torture facilities -- pending the announcement of new policies on these matters by a special panel that won't report its findings for at least six months.""

The Torture State Endures

"A "process," as the term is understood in Washington, will almost always result in the qualified institutionalization of something previously considered unthinkable."

Oh man, you must really be pissed at Cheney and Bush for starting this whole torture mess.
...
So are you saying that Water boarding is illegal and torture? Just trying to get a fix on your outrage to see if it is feigned or legitimate.

You are both doing exactly what she is doing..dodging the subject at hand because neither you nor her have any defense for her over, obvious, documented lies

This is about her actions(lies) in the past few weeks. It is not about the acts she is lying about.

You're not trying to get any 'fix' on anything you're trying to change the focus of the thread because you're unable to put up any better defense of her actions then she is.

So blame Bush..
Blame the CIA.
Blame Santa Claus.
Or my favorite support her claims to being a blithering idiot.."I was misled"

I am defending noone. However, you are defending Bush and everyone else that agreed to the same thing.

So, let's here the answer from you.

Is waterboarding torture and should those that accepted it be brought to justice including Pelosi, Bush, Cheney, Etc?

Will you answer that question?

Tell you Repubs what........You can have Pelosi's head & we'll take Bush & Cheney's heads.( Pelosi for not impeaching Bush or stopping the Iraq war funding & Bush & Cheney for being the hypocritical, cowardly MONSTERS they will go down in history as.

Do we have a deal?

Your link is meaningless. Show me (from a reputable source) where Obama says or is quoted as saying) we MAY use torture again in the future. That is what your alledging so show us a link.

I am alleging our fearless leader is once again engaging in perpetuating a theatrical exercise utilizing the press in which the masses are convinced of something simply untrue. The subject matter really doesnt matter to me insomuch as the constant lying about it.

Loophole 1: Torture is prohibited only of persons detained in an “armed conflict.”

Loophole 2: Only the CIA must close detention centers.

Loophole 3: Officials may still hide some detainees and abusive practices from the Red Cross.

Loophole 4: Abuses not labeled “torture” may continue.

Conclusion
"Torture by US officials has long been illegal, but the president’s executive order entitled “Ensuring Lawful Interrogations” seems to clarify, to some extent, what activities are proscribed. Disappointingly, though, this order contains loopholes big enough to drive a FEMA camp train through them."

"The loopholes in President Obama’s executive order on torture may permit cruel abuses of prisoners to continue, using a legal parlor trick. Labeling detainees the product of counterterrorism operations rather than of armed conflict, or holding detainees in detention facilities operated by entities other than the CIA, may allow government agents and private contractors conforming to the letter of the president’s order to continue practices most would consider torture. The president should close these loopholes or explain to Americans why he won’t."

Obama’s Torture Loopholes

Its possible I simply do not accurately gauge your position.
I supposed its Obama is making a firm stance against torture.
My position is Obama is making an appearance of a firm stance against torture.

The executive order and the eww ACLU support my position.

Pelosi didn't lie and they know it. The point of this ridiculous charge is to divert the torture argument to Pelosi instead of the Bush administration. It's a Chewbaca defense.

Ah. The "centrist" position:

SEND EVERYONE RESPONSIBLE TORTURE TO PRISON!!! EVERYONE!!!***

It looks like Nancy Pelosi is in pretty hot water. If she were to resign, who would take her place? Would the person who replaces her in Congress replace her as Speaker of the House, or an elected person chosen by the House of Representatives?

The house elects the speaker. One might be assigned temporarily pending that election, but the election would happen rather quickly.

This is a circle argument. People who want Bush and Cheney nailed for waterboarding, are not making sense. If waterboarding was not stoppped when Congress knew it was being used in certain cases, how can Pelosi bring it up now? She stepped on a hornet in her bare feet and she is paying for it, as she should be.

Thanks, that's what I thought they did but I didn't know for sure. It'll probably be a Democrat, due to them running Congress at the moment.
