Imagine disliking the ideology of liberalism. Wow.

Just like leftists hating conservatism which happens everyday in the leftist media, and you make a statement like that?

Hypocrisy at it's best.

Still searching for this "leftist media" you folks speak of. Can't find it anywhere not Fox News, not CNN, not MSNBC... Unless of course Glenn Beck is a leftist? Oh wait, are you talking about John Stewart and 'The Daily Show'?

I should add that you see on my side bar info that I'm a liberal and you think that means 'leftist'.

I don't pay attention to what I don't agree with same with crack pot liberals as it is with conservative nut jobs. Life's too short.

And all this time I thought England was a nation that had freedoms similar to ours. I guess not. I should have gotten the hint when they banned guns and most hunting, then put up spy cameras on every corner.

How sad for those living there.

We'll survive, no worries.

Besides. Our ally would invade and bring democracy wouldn't they and save us all no?

You hate free speech or something?

No, I just have no tolerance for filth. Savage's mindless, vulgar diatribes should no more be protected by the freedom of speech than hardcore pornography should be. The fact that the courts have upheld that both are so protected is a grievous error.

I am all for free speech but Savage is on my very short list of people I wouldn't raise a fuss over being banned from public speaking.

Re: Michael Savage Banned In The U.K.

I am no fan. I just found it funny they felt the need to ban a third rate sattelite radio talk show dude especially, and I am trying to find it, where they had some guy with terrorists ties doing the university tour..... heck I don't think he is even on the local NYC market stations.....

The UK legal code is a little different when it comes to hate speech. They are far less tolerant of people like Savage than we are in America.

I am intolerant of Savage because he crosses the line into incitement on many occasions. There's just no sense in it.

Re: Michael Savage Banned In The U.K.

There's a thread on this already.

I agree, however I don't think he actually "incites" anyone.... I don't know anyone that likes him. Maybe thats cause I live in Jersey.

One word for you: jamesrage.

He patterns his rhetoric after Savage, worships every tenet of the Savage doctrine, and emulates Savage in every word he speaks politically. I believe wholeheartedly in free speech and free expression but I see no value in an entertainer who makes his name off calling out to the most habitually angry members of our society and giving validation to their baser instincts of hate and mistrust. Some attacks on civility simply should not be tolerated.

As in 'should not be tolerated silently'? Or as in, 'should be banned'?

As in, should not be tolerated silently. I have never been one for outright censorship.

Re: Michael Savage Banned In The U.K.

In America we let the Klan and Neo-Nazis have public rallies to spew their bile, so being that Savage is pretty much on their level, we can't exactly deny him the ability to write books or spew his hateful vile on his radio show.

However, many countries are not as tolerant as sociopathic douchebags like Savage as we are. The U.K. has laws against hate speech, that is all that Savage seems capable of spewing, so I can see where he would be banned.

To me, sociopaths like Savage are not the problem, its the people that actually give them a daily audience that are the problem.

I like the man, I do not agree with all his views but I do enjoy listening to his show.

What do you mean by the term, 'sociopath'?

When you look at Savage's stances they are in response to affronts to traditional institutions and ethos brought on by progressives.

In effect, your kind have created a mirror-opposite monster in your own likeness. His excesses are what he sees as appropriate to combat your 'progress.'

By the way:

Savage coined the terms "Compassionate Conservative" and "Islamo-Fascist," which have been hijacked by Republican speechwriters and spread like wildfire.

An independent-minded individualist, Michael Savage fits no stereotype. He attacks big government and liberal media bias, but champions the environment and animal rights.

Trained as a scientist, he holds Master’s degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in Epidemiology and Nutritional Science. He spent decades searching and saving tropical rainforests.

Savage is also the author of 18 books including four New York Times Best Sellers: "The Political Zoo", "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder", “The Savage Nation” and “The Enemy Within.”

Conservative Talk Show Host Michael Savage

His war cry is: Borders - Language - Culture.

.

Hate speech laws are illegal in the US. We have this thing in this country called the first amendment. Liberals still somewhat value free speech or so they claim.

I listen to his show and I have never been incited to do anything illegal. As far as I know he has not incited anyone to do anything illegal. It is absurd grouping him with terrorist sympathizers, nazi scum and scum who protest at the funerals of fallen soldiers and marines.

Meh, I find him obnoxious. If you want the fire and passion, and intelligence, Levin is your man. I find Savage rather boorish. I haven't heard him in years, but he is definatley not for me.

So you are saying he is the Rosie O'Donnell of the right? Nuff said.

Look at how angry he makes you. Look at how your rhetoric is symmetrical with his inflammatory presentation. Why does discussion about Savage make you abandon any semblance of civility and start throwing out the words scum and why does discussion about savage make you avoid honesty by calling people nazis and "terrorist sympathizers"?

Holy crap, I actually agree with jamesrage on something.

Michael Savage is possibly one of the nastiest, most unpleasant people on the air. But as far as I know, he's never incited violence. And banning people from a country for their views is a bad idea. What's to stop the government from doing this more and more, until the only views allowed are pro-government views?

Well there's a difference between knowing your enemies and filling your head with garbage by choice.
